You can't do it properly either way. Theres just no way to support that much power flowing needed. A car battery has around 83 amps of power to push (thats max, so just running your car battery plain and simple isn't the key here), your house only has 30.

Now time for the math:

Amperage = Watts / Volts
? = 400 (400w amp) / 12 (12v car battery the amp was designed for)
33.333... amps are required to push your sub amp.

I mean sure if you had a transformer you could do it, but it wouldn't be able to sustain it for long enough not to mention I wouldn't want a 750watt transformer just chillin in my room.

Thank you. It's only temporary but I'd still like to use them for the 3-4 weeks there not in my car instead of them just sitting there collecting dust

I have my subs wire to a 300.1 amp( no trolling all old stuff from car) amos pluged into a yellow top ar battery (got from dad its a backup for his trailer) wired that to a battery charger(used for jumping fourwheelers and bs) different amps take different wiring you should see a think invetween + and - on the amp you got to bridge a wire from the + side and when i say bridge take short copper wire anycolor and put it in both things should work after that...

It's four cheap subs with a sub amp, a $40 CD player, and stock speakers. With the bass at +15

I think they actually sound pretty good if you don't turn the rheostat up to +16dbs and the head unit all the way up. Mine chill on the minimum.

You have to be careful, a car battery sets of dangerous and toxic fumes. Buy a power converter. They make power supplies that are 13v which plug into your wall outlet. I use it to bench test all my audio equipment.

How much amp you need depends on what you're running. I have the 22 amp one and can run a head unit, 6 channel amp which runs, a set of compenents, rear 6x9 and a jl w7.
