"A hit is a hit, get out!"
Repeat with a different rental each time so he can't take revenge. It's a stupid idea, but it would be funny to do this once or twice. If you are able to do this covertly enough, you could feed him disinformation saying, "Well that's what happens when you play rentals. If you want to avoid getting shot out by newbies, play more experienced players."

That's absolutely brilliant.
Also excellent choice of user name too.

There's this kid who has been coming to our field and has been playing for 4 years now ever since he found our field. He's always been scared when playing, like he'll hide in the back or something, but never admits it (when we first got our speedball field 2 years ago, he hid behind the startbox), which is fine. But that's not the issue. Just wanted to give some background on what it was like for him and I'm sure numerous others when they first started playing. He is 16 now, but was 11 or 12 when he first started playing at our field.
Now flash forward to the present. A couple of years ago, he bought a mini, fully padded dye jersey, pants, electronic hopper, etc, after using a tippmann and what not. I like to refer to him now as the "rental pro," because all he does now is play against rentals and goes unnecessarily hard against them. Like he full out ramps upon ramps on these kids, using like 5 or more pods a game in woodsball. But he refuses to play against anyone with experience in speedball, or even woodsball. He claims to be all about the speedball life, even has his cover photo on Facebook as a speedball field, with the caption "this is the life," when he has maybe played 2 or 3 games ever on a speedball field, and it wasn't even a regulation field. As the referee at the field, I always try to encourage him to play against the experienced players, but he always has some bull**** excuse for not wanting to play against them, such as "I don't have enough paint for that," or "I'm not feeling good, I'm going to go take a break," and then suddenly he feels magically better when the rentals are ready to play again. Our policy is if you have at least 15 people in your party, then you can make it private if you want and not allow anyone else at the field that day to play with you, but the first timers who only have 15 or less people in their group and this kid wants to join with them I have no way to say no to him. I've talked to my manager about this a couple of times before, and he's told me that he thinks the kid has a problem at home, which is fine and all, but that does not give him the excuse to go full rambo against rental players. He has been doing this nonstop for the past few years, and I think it's bad for our sport for the newcomers for him to be doing this. Me and the other referees are on the same page, and the best we can do right now is limit him to semi, which is what we've been doing now, but even then he's walking the trigger so fast it's almost like he is ramping. And everytime, I see the fear in the rental players' eyes and how they don't want to play after he steps on the field, and it disgusts me, but what can I do?

what i would do if i were you is tell him that if he is going to go ramp on rental player is tell that he has to play with player who ramp or dont play at all

It just bothers me because he can't hold back against rental players.

1) Time to show him this thread. post it to him on FB, or better yet message him.
2) Catch him coming in (give him the option to turn around and not spend $$) you can not play against the rentals. Put him with speedball players say you play with them or not at all.
Aside) The whole wrestling thing, they match you up by size, for smaller athletes it is a great equalizer. The two children in my sig both wrestle.

Yea I know, he's pretty small. I'm just waiting for him to come back to the field now. Wrestling just got done, so he should be stopping by any day now...

Did he come by today? We had a rental bully at the field today. Some guy with a Mini that was ramping against a church group. Luckily though, all the renters looked like they were still having fun

I think the manager should get involved it hurts the sport when people pick on the new guys. I couldn't imagine the owner/manager not understanding this and developing some rules for this kid. Also putting a last minute player who is experienced just to take out the bully would be a good idea as well.

Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone. 2 things! He has problems at home, who cares! Fixing issues on the field at the expense of other new players IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Second If it is noted repeatedly, then stop it!
Couple ways to deal with it. Headhunting is dealing with a bully with bullying (so I don't recommend it).
1) Yellow tag, Red tag system. Yellow formal warning with red being ban for the day. 2 reds in a period of time= ban. Another field gives all players a players card for the day. You show this card to the ref to play period! Each player has to chrono his marker with ref present (written on card). Then any violation of the rules gets a corner cut off the card. 4 corners then ejected.
2) He is a minor talk to him, but more than likely talk to his parent or guardian
3) Ban him if all else fails. Overshooting and trashing noobs is dangerous and very bad for paintball and the business.

Nope, he's probably waiting for it to warm up, probably too cold for him (30 degrees all weekend here).

I mean, none of the rentals have complained so far about him, and when I brought it up with the manager, he said that he has problems at home blah blah blah, but if someone complained about him, he'd probably care. And I can try that.

NO RENTALS FOR HIM TO BULLY LOL I DON'T KNOW HOW HE PLAYED, OR EVEN IF HE PLAYED AT ALL DOWN THERE, (I WAS RUNNING THE SHOP TODAY, AND WAS BY MYSELF, SO I WASN'T ALLOWED TO LEAVE TO GO CHECK ON THE FIELD) BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU HE DIDN'T BULLY ANYONE TODAY XD

Try and ask the refs who were there today how he did. And then give us another update!
But in all honesty, I hope he played with the better players and had a good time, hopefully even worked over his anxiety or whatever was keeping him playing with the rentals.

We had some D3 and D4 teams out there, so he had to be playing against the better players, but from what I found out, he did play a few games haha
