Paperview? Really who the hell is gonna pay to watch old footage when you can pretty much buy a DVD of the event..? Dumb mistake! Just trying to find another way to make money.. Incredible..

dvd of the event? what like a der der video where all they show is 10 second clips of people getting bunkered and then the short bus? this is a showing of the entire event. do you really think this is a money making scheme as well? I can guarantee it cost a good amount of money to be on the on demand channel, but NPPL wants to promote the sport so they went for it.
ill tell you ive never played a sport where people found every reason to complain!

Not a very good one, apparently (see: 2008).
The PSP uploads their webcast to YouTube, which is free to anyone in the world with an internet connection. NPPL puts theirs "On Demand", which, to my knowledge, would only be available to select markets and costs X amount of dollars.
Which do you think will reach more viewers and in turn increase exposure?

NPPL has free uploads to youtube as well. They also have their events on On Demand now. How is this a step backwards to the paintball industry?
And as said in above posts, NPPL went up 20% in participation this year, so yes it is a pretty good business.

If I remember correctly there was no nppl in 2008, it was the uspl. Exposure doesn't mean profit, free product means less profit. Who's the better business? Next time try not to talk out of your *** next time. Thanks.

No NPPL, as in it went bankrupt. I'm pretty sure bankruptcy is considered a failure when considering business practice. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that I was talking out of my ***.
No reason to get butthurt over the discussion. I'm not attacking anyone or any business here. I simply made an observation and attempted to discuss it here, but I guess that's not a feasible option.

youre not creating discussion. Youre simply bashing the NPPL and promoting the PSP. If you cared about a discussion why did you ignore my comment directly underneath your first comment? If PSP is so great just go back to the PSP threads and stop your b.s.

I didn't respond to your post because you put words in my mouth. Please tell me where I said that the NPPL was taking steps backwards? Oh, that's right... I DIDN'T.
Read my ****ing post. I didn't bash anyone. I simply stated what the 2 companies are doing and followed it with a question. You're making inaccurate assumptions based on what I said.

we did fine before shawn walker took over and we are doing great without him. bankrupcy was a re-structure of our league when he picked up his pieces and went home after running us into the ground.
and the reason for this footage being ppv is probly (complete assumption) so that it costs them less to be on tv. '11 hb was filmed by a professional espn crew with a crane and everything. to put it simply they have alot of really great footage that, besides being on espn3 for a while, they have done nothing with.
re-releasing the footage right around this years event is probly 1. contractual agreement that espn3 only can use the footage for a while at first and 2. good marketing, as you are watching our free webcast this year they can sell you ppv to go and watch last years professsionally filmed event with commentators, on field reporters and better cameras.
