new rules that will go into effect at event #3....

Quote:
16.03 - If at the end of the game either during live-player check or prior to the flag being pulled or hung, the following will occur if a if a player is found with a hit:

a. For each player found with a obvious hit (anything that can be felt, seen or heard at the refs discretion), that team will receive a -50 point penalty and the opposing team will receive +5 elimination points

b. For each player found with an in-obvious hit (only hits on the back of the pod-pack that a player could not have felt, seen or heard at the refs discretion), that team will receive a -25 point penalty and the opposing team will receive +5 elimination points

c. In addition to “a”, for each player found with an obvious hit, a 1-For-1 penalty will take place which will eliminate the player with the hit plus one other player on the same team. The opposing team will receive an additional +5 elimination points

d. Players found with an in-obvious hit will not receive a 1-4-1 call

e. If after all 1-For-1 penalties are enforced, the team still has live players then that team will still receive the flag hang points (Live player does not physically need to re-hang the flag). Flag pull points will remain with the original team who pulled the flag.

f. If after all 1-For-1 penalties are enforced, the team does not have any live players, then the opposing team will automatically receive the flag pull points and the flag hang points.

16.06 – While in the dead box, the eliminated player must lay their marker on the ground and face away from the game. If this rule is abused a warning will be issued and if abused a second time, a 20 point penalty will be assessed at the discretion of the head ref or ultimate ref.

16.07 – Spectators on the sidelines are to remain quiet once the 5-second count down has begun. If this rule is abused a warning will be issued and if abused a second time, a 20 point penalty will be assessed at the discretion of the head ref or ultimate ref.

30.05 – If any team receives penalty points during their head to head match either in prelims or finals, then the tie breaker will be awarded to the team who did not receive penalty points regardless of the outcome of points for that head to head game.

So, 1 for 1's are going to be pulled on in-obvious hits now?

If found at the end of the game…. Yes. The concept is, had the player been pulled with the hit (obvious or inobvious), then it could have had an opposite outcome of the game.

Yeah but inobvious hits don't deserve 1 for 1s. If at the end of the game someone is hit in the pack and it wasn't found by a refs durring the game, I couldn't justify giving the player a 1for1. It's like giving a penalty for bad reffing.

I understand your guy’s point… what I’m trying to avoid is arguments at the end of a game as to what is obvious or in-obvious. If enough people agree with in-obvious not applying to this 1-4-1 rule, then I may change it (may being the key word). I want to get Tim’s take on it though… and a few others before I change it. If it did change…. Really the only in-obvious hit that would be excluded of the 1-4-1 would be a hit in the pack that a person could absolutely not see or feel and call for a paint check.

I think everyone is going to agree… until they lose a game with a player found with an in-obvious hit then the world comes to an end, the reffs suck, the mps sucks, and they are never playing in the mps again and then they come on here and e-bash…. Did I get it right?? (Just a little afternoon humor).

Yes, but the rule change only applies at the end of a game after all opposing players are eliminated OR when all of the supposed "live" players are being checked by the refs.

If the game is still being played you'll still just face a possible 1-4-1 NOT the points penalty.

edit: and it's 50 points for an OBVIOUS hit and 25 points for an IN-OBVIOUS hit.

My vote would be for no 1-4-1's on inobvious pack hit's or inobvious hits that you call for a paint check and the reff still doesn't see it. I know the chances of the reff missing something like that should be slim to none, but it could happen and if it did you'd really hear someone "screaming" about it after getting a 1-4-1.

that's the smart thing to do if you have time. we did that last year but the ref told us don't worry about it because there weren't penalty's for dirty hangs.
