PSP changes field length and adds 4 bunkers for 2013

Happy New Year to our teams, sponsors, staff and fans! The PSP has been very busy in the off-season spending weeks in meetings working on many developments for the 2013 season including enhancements to the referee program, field adjustments, new marketing initiatives and of course locking in the event dates and venues.

After careful consideration, the league has elected to put the following field changes in place:

1) Two additional bunkers will be placed on each side of the field for a total of 4 additional bunkers.

2) The playing field will be reduced to 150 ft x 120 ft boundary to boundary.

Many more details regarding the 2013 season will be released in the days ahead.

Good to know fields spent lots of time and money altering the field length for the PSP to find that the length would change the next year. Bravo

Rob's fields were lengthened for the last set of changes. That had nothing to do with moving MAO.

I see. Didn't know that. Well I hope it'll be coming back. One of my favorite venues by far. Plus the food in the Carolinas is pretty good.

It may suck to have put in the time and money to comply with the changes, but now that it's done, a reduction in field size doesn't necessarily mean it was all for nothing. Fields with the 170x120 length, especially fields that added more space around that for refs, now have more options on how to configure their field/pit setup and more space in general. With proper spacing on the sidelines you could even run two fields in that space (~90x120) to knock out a 3-man quickly.

can we get a sample layout with the new bunkers/field length?

i threw something together this past weekend and it was a real cluster, haha...but then again it was 150' long by 100' wide so im sure that didnt help.
