Axe Relay Tools

I did a small run of the Relay Tool. I have had quite a few people ask me about it so here is a picture.

Shame good idea but your price is crazy $50 for a tool or $70 for a new reg.... I got some circlip pliers which have circular ends I filed them till it sat snug in the holes cost $5.

Buying tools is easier than sitting around filing a set of pliers down. I see where you're coming from, but not everyone is as handy as you or I. Boss is merely offering a "plug & play" solution to maintaining the Axe reg.

Subtract $10 for the 3mm nut driver, the cost of material, machining time, and the fact noone else has made these and your comment is now invalid.

Yeah, sadly setup and machining time kills you on a small run to make a part. But it's not like I could do a big run because I would never sell 1000 units. So it did end up being $35 for the tool plus a nut driver.

Some do not understand the overhead for making the tool.

Gonna have to agree here. I know I know it is costly to make, but consider the throw away electronics area. No one calls a TV repairman to fix a $200 dollar TV. When it breaks in a number of years they toss it. Only the really high end TV's does anyone try to repair. For a designed parts that is easily replaceable kinda hard to spent the cash unless you repair these regs all the time.

I never said they where for everyone, that is exaclty why I said I did a very small run. But you go thru your gear on say a Friday afternoon to get ready for a weekend tournament and discover you have reg creep or poor recharge. Then it is nice to be able to fix it and you are not going to have time in most cases to get a new reg.

Point well made. I concede that I didn't think of that. In fact that very thing happened a couple months back at a local tourney. I do admit yours is professional in look and function.

Does this tool make it so you can repair the "non-user serviceable" regulator? If so I may purchase one as I have a few teammates and have seen several leaky relay's recently that had to be swapped out, but it was always at the worst times these leaks came up.

Yes these tools will allow you to completely service the Relay. Also watch this video for help doing it.

Yes KEE will fix them. But again my point is you don't always have time to send your gun in and get it back before you are going to need to use it.

If I needed these tools I'd buy them in a second.

The one thing I never liked about the axe was the non servicable reg. **** that, I bought the gun, I'm gonna service it. Empire has amazing customer service but I'm not sending it in every time I want the reg cleaned especially after my new anno

Is the same 3 MM hex tool used to disassemble the Mini's regulator after removing the brass filter?

We use the same 3mm driver and a similar tool to service these relays. But our tool isn't nearly as nifty as bosses.

Its also the same type of tool we use.

It takes (depending on where you live) 3 to 5 days for shipping Plus a day for us to process the repair. Then shipping BACK which is 3 to 5 days. Plus you pay to ship it here (Cost about $20). Correct me if im wrong but I don't even think that Boss is making any profit on them. Just had them made for those who would like to fix their own Marker.

How is the regulator dissembled after the brass filter and hollow brass screw is removed? I guess I'm asking how I would separate the piston from the larger brass plunger in the front?

Thank you very much Boss. I'm going to try to find one at a local hardware or automotive store. Is there any particular size I should be looking for? I assume one that is small/narrow enough to get to the piston?
