Do mac 43 valves work on Timmys?

I was wondering if there was any modification needed to have a Mac 43 solenoid run on a timmy.. I recently came into a large lot of them as was wondering what I can use them for.

Yes they will work. The Mac 43 is a 4-way and is actually the same noid that Wicked Air Sportz sold years ago as the WAS noid. It is currently available AirSoldier.com. It draws more power than the humphrey noids and has been known to have problems with some boards. I believe the stock board will work fine as well as any of the Tadao boards. It used to be considerd a decent upgrade over the stock humphrey noid, but It's older, and I'm not sure how it stacks up to the current generation of humphrey noids.

It will work, you just have to find out what threading the air ports have, and the barbs to fit it. MAC 43 noids draw more power than the humphreys noids. They don't have as much of a "jump" when they click, but don't have as high a cycle speed as the humphreys. AKA is the only other company I remember using them extensively, and they worked well in their markers, but they couldn't keep up with the speed in the viking. Also, they required specific milling in the manifold to work with an aka gun, unlike a timmy which needs barbs.
If they're new, they need to be cycled quite a bit to get them broken in before the dwell can be lowered to shoot to velocity. Other than that, they should be pretty trouble-free

Lurker has a Mac43 in one of his timmys as I recall. You could ask him what he did/needed to do to get it to work any other mods.

Actually, you've got that pretty much all wrong. AKA markers had a 44 series solenoids in them, not the 43:

http://www.zdspb.com/tech/misc/solenoids_models.html (Scroll to the bottom)

The 43 noid is newer and has the same 10-32 barb threads as the gen 3 Timmy's stock Humphrey. It's also rated for a higher number of cycles per second than the gen 3 stock solenoids. As I stated in my previous post, the Mac 43 series is the solenoid that Wicked Air Sportz sold as the WAS noid:

I've read that the MAC 44's in AKA's can be replaced with the 43's.

Yeah, good catch, i didn't pick off the 43 right off the bat, trying to type while juggling screaming kids.

Although, considering Jim Drew's track record, and his ability to break the laws of physics with radio control aircraft, i don't know if I'd trust anything he endorsed/made.

And yes, several people have put the 43's into their aka guns, but they had to be modified with a drill press and some knowledge of how to use it.

It's actually a good noid if your board can handle the power draw. Despite claims that it was custom manufactured for WAS, the WAS Noid was simply a branded MAC 43 series and I don't believe they had any hand in it's development.

How in the world did you end up with 700 of them? And that's a pretty good price you are selling them for. I'm going to have to buy some off of you soon as I have several Timmy's that need noids.

Shouldnt, but it would require a higher dwell.

That's actually a 5 not a 6. In the picture it looks like a 6, but these are 5v/4.7watt. No they won't damage your board.
