When did I say there was no room for improvement...? I think I pretty much explicitly stated that people like him recognize that there's nowhere to go except for thinking outside the box, IE .50 caliber.

Dye is just like PE. They both release the new gun for the same expensive price with little differences with each coming year. Look back, all that's happened in these past years is they shaved off a few ounces, changed up a few small details in the mechanics of the gun and upgraded the style of the guns. It's going to be like this for a long time, this trend is here to stay.
|
They're not claiming it is a revolutionary marker or that "you have to get it" or anything of the sort. They simply updated it since last year. Dye isn't telling you to dump you DM9 for the DM10. They just have a new version for those who are in the market for a new marker. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?
It happens in many industries.

Exactly
The same go with car companies. They "refresh" their line ups all the time. The problem is that Dye has spoiled us with a new marker every year. Now we expect it. Now watch, we're going to expect a new NT for 2011. There's nothing wrong with refreshing a product. It's common practice. It's funny because the people that are complaining about Dye and Planet Eclipse not redesigning their markers are the ones that aren't even looking into purchasing a new marker. They just want to SEE new sh*t.

if you listen to billy wing in one of the dye videos he even states that the DM10 is just an updated version of the DM9.

This just puts into stark contrast how old my dm4 is, I can't believe its been almost 6 years! I'm sure this has been said in 19 pages but, they shoulda put their new barrel stock on these and then they'd have a real upgrade.

theres usually a difference every 2-3 years with the dye line
dm4&5 had similarities, dm6&7 had similarities, dm8 is kinda similar to the dm6&7, dm9&10 are similar...

COMPLETE BS from Dye this year in my opinion. Look at Bob Long, the victory was released, then they developed the supercharger kit.
Bob COULD have kept the SC kit hush hush, and then changed the victories milling, and released it as the next victory in 2011.
BUT NO, Bob made the right move. Now all bnib victorys bought from Bob Long come stock with the Victory, and if you bought a victory before the kit was developed, you can send it in for a small fee (I think its like $50-75 + shipping) and have the kit installed.
Thats a hell of a lot better than releasing an entirely new marker for $1350 because dye spent so much time on the NT they decided to just change up a few things and release the same dm9 as a dm10.
Nuff said. Bash all you want. Its truth.

I seem to hear the same thing every damn year. "so little has changed!"
One day we'll be shooting .1 pound guns, but the paint will still weigh the same lol

- No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
- Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
