Las Vegas was the best event of the year
Las Vegas was the best event of the year
Having played all four events and world cup this year, I think Las Vegas was the best event of the year.
Yes, world cup was bigger and had more vendors, but there’s a lot to be said for having the event at the hotel and not having to rent a car. With that said, what made it the best.
The NPPL listened to the players and made adjustments throughout the year to improve each event.
Hopefully, others noticed the subtle changes that were implemented in Las Vegas.
• Schedules posted outside of each chrono area.
• An official who monitored games and ensured that schedule was maintained.
• A ground crew that actually cleaned the fields during breaks or delays rather than relying on the ref’s to do it.
• Having a trash can at almost every tent so you didn’t have to walk far to throw thing away. Some players still need to learn to pick up trash, but the NPPL provided a full time pit team to keep it clean.
• More tents so most teams had a place to camp.
I don’t know about you but I’m already looking forward to Huntington Beach. Before people start bashing I know the “merge” may be on the horizon, but I have a feeling there will be two location that remain in a “merged league” HB and Vegas.
At NPPL events the team attendance was HB (134 teams), Chicago (87 Teams), DC (66 Teams) & Vegas (136 teams) and in PSP the team attendance was Galveston (126 teams), NJO (102 Teams), Chicago (155 Teams) & WC (277 Teams)
Based on that a merged schedule could look like this: (regardless of format) HB, Chicago, Las Vegas, WC. Add two events Galveston and NJO for a total of 6 events. To determine series champions total top four scores for each team.
Now, if we could only get rid of the dreaded coin toss.

I agree that this was the best event. I was talking with some of the Pro and Divisional players as well as the fans and staff and they agreed. I was so happy that all of the fans were having such a great time in the stands and enjoying the action on the field and all of the free stuff we were throwing out. I also had a blast making bets on the games lol...
I'm proud to work for a league that really cares about the fans and players and does everything possible to make them happy.
Great event, great season and I can't wait for HB!!!
Thanks to everyone for your support. Have a great off season.

All that I ask is that paint manufacturers really get a grip on how brittle paint needs to be. Amazing event other than that.

5 star shot amazing...
the event was awesome except when i slipped off the edge of the turf onto concrete and messed up my knee... but that was my bad.
1 gripe was waiting ~4 hours from quarter final game to semi final game..but the wait was worth the trophy so all is well!!!
we will definatly be showin in d3 7 man hoping there is one in HB

agreed vegas is always my favorite event.
i know we are all in it to win it, but if you do get knocked out before sunday, its nice to have things to do and see. Which is not the case in polk county lol.
I look forward to playing the full nppl season next year.
My only real complaint about vegas is that the generators being used to power the lights REALLY affect communication on field. 7 man is a game of team communication, and when you take that out of the equation then it kinda sucks. The whole town is electrified, theres gotta be a place we can just plug in the lights. However this is a small issue and would not stop me from playing.
that said big thanks to the nppl (and mike mcd ) on behalf of all the players in attendance from Vancouver and Ambush Paintball.

We had an arm wrestling match to determine who got what side of the field just before game 3 of pump finals at DC this year.

I have absolutely no complaints about the event. I think this was as close to a perfectly ran event as we can get. Only thing I would have changed was the notification process of Sunday's schedule. Other than that, props to NPPL for a great event.

I'm so sad Vegas is over
One of the best event of my lifetime
Even though I had doubts about the NPPL during HB this year, Vegas definitely made up for it. I no longer care for the merge, I actually hope the leagues stay in place like it always was. 7 man and xball is totally different and I would love to play both formats through out the year.

Thanks Tim! We do read and listen to all of the stakeholders. Our goal is continuous improvement, and hopefully we can implement all of your previous suggestions.

A pleasure to have you at all events Nic! Got to have another Canadian party in Vegas like 2009.

We are working on this process. The problem started with every team that missed Sunday wanting to audit all of their signed score sheets at 8:00 on Saturday.......delaying our scoring crew.

Evil was far too brittle. I spent most ofthe event trying to find a gun that would shoot it. I ended up chronoing ten guns and they all destroyed it.
Both colors. We even let it sit out open overnight and still the same. Evil dropped the ball IMO, I mean the other three events it shot amazing but Vegas was terrible.
Great venue, great setup, I really enjoyed it all. I look forward to next year.
