Finally, after months of taunting ST with the awesomeness of Oreoballs, and nearly 100 PM's asking about them I finally got around to taking pictures of how to make them. This thread has even been requested by Moderators and other Staff Members here on the nation.
So, here we go.
First, you are going to need supplies. Oreos(original or double stuff-your preference), a bowl, Creme cheese, a big heavy spoon to mix with, some sort of measuring spoon (size is up to you), and a plate to put the Oreos on.
Plop half (4 ounces) of the creme cheese into your mixing bowl
Next, begin mashing in about 10-14 oreos into the bowl with the heavy spoon
After 2 or 3 minutes of good mashing, the oreos should look like this:
Begin scooping the mixture out onto the plate
Now place the oreos into the freezer, dont worry if you didnt use all of the mixture
Kill some time, about 45 minutes
On the rocks, of course
While the balls are freezing, I went ahead and added the rest of the creme cheese and another 10-14 oreos
I didnt get a picture of it, but I used the double broil style to melt 2 bags of chocolate chips (brand and style is again up to you.)
They should be good and hard after an hour or so
begin rolling the balls around in the melted chocolate, I used a pair of tongs
Place back in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to continue to freeze the balls and solidify the chocolate
leave them in the freezer when you arent eating them, they are now like ice cream...Enjoy!
