I realize that this is a vastly inactive part of the forum, but surely there are plenty of lurkers? Anyhow, I figured I'd post up some of my work in hopes of getting some comments/ criticism, and possibly become motivated enough to post up more work regularly if you like what you see

Alls I can really say is that you have some clear talent, but you should sign up for some tutored life drawing classes. That's all there really is to it. Life drawing was the best thing that ever happened to me. Your characters are a bit stiff and your proportion is a little off. After that you can start to worry about things like lighting and such.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. The balloon one isn't my original idea btw- it can be seen on the cover of Circa Survive's 'On Letting Go' album.

Hey, I really appreciate this. Although I've never thought of my life drawing skills to be top-notch, I think I've kind of found a comfort zone in the style I've been working with (which isn't necessarily a good thing). I realize that to be good at this, I need to change it up a bit, but I've been really tight on time with my work schedule, so practice is somewhat rare :/ But this is soon to change since I'll be going to university for graphic design in the fall. I need to pass the foundation courses (drawing, painting, etc.) before I can reach my major though and I must admit that I'm a bit nervous lol.

How do you like the work that you do as a concept artist/ 3d supervisor?

Hey, thanks. I've tried to branch out my lettering skills a bit, but it is a very slow moving process considering the amount of free time I've got at the moment. I want to eventually transition what I know about sketching lettering to painting lettering, since my skills there are lacking severely lol.

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction, and judging by the stuff you're doing it seems to me that graphic design is right up your alley.

Lol, I've been ridiculously busy with work & keeping up with some other work, but I finally finished this sketch for my dad today... I was horribly upset with how the faces on my athletes turned out (ended up covering up the Redwings player's face with a mask lol), but feel free to comment/ criticize beyond that

Hey, thanks guys. I really appreciate the kind words. I've got some new stuff to post up, although I'm definitely limited to what I can and can't post due to nudity (yes, I took a drawing class where we drew nude models daily). I'll try not to draw any infractions here lol.



This is easily my best self-portrait, but there is still tons of room for improvement... I've never been too great at realism :/

This one incorporates the self-portrait above, but in three-dimensional form.


Aaaannndddd a name piece I'm working on for a good lady friend of mine... finished pics to come when it is completed.

Thanks for the kind words I just got accepted into the Visual Communications program at Ball State University, so there will definitely be more to come. I was nervous because the major is very competetive at my school- about 66% of applicants are denied, based on their porfolio/ GPA, so I feel relieved to know that I'm in Definitely excited to get started in the fall!

I might start working on a name piece for my mother soon... She's feeling left out because I've done up names for all kinds of female friends of mine, but I haven't made time to create for her, so she's overdue.
