Piranha EVO detonator reg question

I recently bought a new EVO off ebay and the regulator was crap and sealed shut. I'm planning to buy an evil detonator reg to replace it. I was wondering if this reg works well with the EVO and I was wondering if I need to buy a longer braided steel line.

Any help or comments would be apprieciated.

first of all, if you're getting a regulator, I'm assuming you have compressed air.
So don't get a linger steel line, get macro line. And yes, the det is a good reg.

macro line is cheaper than braided steel line. get an expansion chamber instead of a reg. it will work better in the long run, especially when putting down a long stream of paint. i prefer steel line if im running CO2

the line should be the same size if the x chamber had the threaded hole in the side whre the reg is now. but if the hole is located at the base of the reg (like the det reg) you will need a new line.

For an EVO I would not recomend an expansion chamber over a new reg. The EVO won't work well with full CO2 pressure.

But if your'e using CO2 and shooting a lot of paint per game expect to have some freezup troubles. No reg likes a lot of liquid CO2 getting up into the works and then freezing in there. A Palmer's Stabilizer is better than most but even those will act up if you try to shoot a lot of liquid through them.

If you're going from the PMI reg to a Detonator then you will need to get a 90 degree adapter but it should work with the stock line. You may need to loosen the drop forward and let it slide a bit forward is all.

The Palmer's reg is the best way to go but the Detonator has a reputation for being decently tolerante of CO2 so it's a good budget solution. Get the 90 elbow at the same time you order the reg.
