Ok, I'll agree with that. You made it sound like you wanted to have the bolt moving back while the valve was opening, which would be a bad thing. You don't want the bolt to start moving until the valve has opened and closed completely.

When the electronics are set, in practicality the bolt solenoid has to become energized ahead of time to compensate for a brief time to get it moving. That's what you're talking about.

Of course it varies from cocker to cocker, varies from closed bolt electro to closed bolt electro

Anyway, when you (or whomever it was) mentioned the Geo you're thinking of the Eclipse patent for the open bolt poppet system which is different from the Geo. Geos operate like Thresholds or Hollowpoint Ions.
The patent's sentences about the recoil cancelling, by the way, is marketing bs they threw in there. It makes a theoretical difference but it's just a drop of water in the recoild bucket compared to the kick generated by the ball being fired. Just wanted to mention that
jack wood said something like once you get below 1 ounce of reciprocating mass, 85% or 90% of the kick of the gun is caused from the ball itself firing.

it makes sense, i mean eventually we will get to the point where to make our guns any "smoother" we need to either increase the mass, or shoot with slower velocity.

Very true. Everybody's experienced it when they're standing in the backyard dryfiring then suddenly drop a ball in the chamber to shoot instead...and all of a sudden the gun starts to recoil...lol

you'd think it should be more like once the internals of the marker weigh less then the ball they are firing, THEN more of the kick will be felt from the ball itself lol but who knows.

well, the idea is, the laws of physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, an object as rest will stay at rest unless affected by an equal and opposite force, ect...... the force of the air propelling the ball forward will also propel the marker backwards causing "kick" what he is saying is, it is not always the force of the rammer striking the poppet or the bolt moving back and forth that you feel and perceive as recoil.

I know the physics involved its just that certain markers make me think their are other factors involved

New Info

Hi everybody; sorry for taking so long to come back on but been crazy couple of weeks. Got back from cup but had to do some stuff to make everything work. My previous board decided to get fried so I installed a Tadao one on it but had to some mods to make it fit and function properly. The video is on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp0bAzZH3wI
I also put it on the initial post.
Several people looked at the gun; they all liked it and if they don't buy the design it could be something I might fancy start making.
I didn't shoot much on the video; the gun was able to handle 14.6 bps with zero recoil (I shoot DMs due to my sponsorship and my gun was actually smoother), also the precision is incredible.
I'm having some issues with the solenoid I chose so I'm doing a redesign this week to mount a non direct acting solenoid. I'm hoping this gets the speed up since I'm aiming for at least 30 bps.

I would like to thank everybody for the interest and hope you like wht's coming up (actually a complete form redesign).
