TACP awarded Silver Star for 13hr battle in Afghanistan. 270 Taliban killed.

Tech. Sgt. Tavis Delaney, a TACP with the 116th Air Support Observation Squadron, was with another TACP alongside an Army unit May 25 near Do Ab in the mountainous Nuristan province, when his group was ambushed. Pinned down and outnumbered by the large Taliban forces above, Delaney called in airstrikes from 14 airframes from all four services.

“They owned the high ground,” Delaney told Air Force Times last year. “They had fire superiority. They had hundreds of people. And we killed almost all of them and didn’t lose a single American in seven hours of battle. It was seven hours of full-blown, slugfest, back-and-forth, rounds-smacking-right-over-your-head battle.”

And the grass isn't always greener dude.. You could have $300 utility bills like me at the peaks of each season.. People always want to rush to move out of the dorms or off base out of housing.. It's great until you see how much you realize to spend on gas, utilities and shopping. Not to mention actually having to fix the **** in your house.

lulz. and truth on utilities. My water/trash/sewer is never less than 74 dollars and change and I had a couple gas and electric bills pushing 250 last summer. Needless to say I won't be keeping my house at 70 this summer.

at least dorm MX accomplishes stuff... When I went through training we got hit hard on our first room inspections so nobody went to church our first sunday so they could fix their ****. After that there were only a few of us that stayed. It was kinda awkward at one point because as a whole flight we talked about the oaths of enlistment and commissioning and what each line means. We got to 'so help me god' and one guy was all like, 'It means that you can't do it alone and you need god's assistance and guidance' and I was like, 'that lines optional if I'm not mistaken...'
