So close you could taste it huh? Don't forget what that feels like. The 'Canes of old spent years getting over that next hurdle...

Want to play well in the prelims...
Play well in the prelims but just miss Sunday...
Play great in the Prelims and choke on Sunday... (This one took a while to get over.)
Play great in the prelims, and pretty good on Sunday, but just miss top 4...
Play (in our minds) ok in prelims, but just miss final four...
Prelims become a foregone conclusion...all eyes on top four.
Make Top Four!!! Party Time!!
Make Top Four...Pissed Off
Second Place... ****!!!!!

Keep Pushing. Get your work done in practice. You don't need the full team to have a good practice, just have the right attitude, and do all you can to become better players. The rest will come.
And every time you crested the next ridge, expectations went further ahead. I remember when we were just starting to be a Sunday team, not regularly, but maybe two out of three events, and for a long time, that was ok. If we played on Sunday, I was ok. And it took a very long time before just playing on Sunday wasn't enough. Then, our first top 4 finish in KC and at the time, I was pretty happy with it and thinking, "I could live with this." And by San Diego, the next event, it wasn't enough. Just the nature of the beast.

The weather looks to be ok for today, so we'll go to the field, watch some pro games, support 187 if they are there (I think they have the day off, but I'll check) and maybe we'll film some pro games. That could prove educational. I guess some people want to visit some pizza place an hour away, so maybe that'll be dinner.
