What does powder coating do to a gun?

It's just a paint job, but instead of anodizing they put a thick powder coat (hence 'powdercoat' heh) and bake it.

It's cheaper than anodizing, and IMO just as good.

not exactly.... powdercoating is a paintjob ya... but it is for guns that cant have anno... like most mags dont have the all steel body so they cant anno it they have to use powdercoating

Just to clear something up here, no flaming intended. If a mag had an all steel body, non of it could be annoed. Aluminum, and aluminum alloys are the only metals that can be. As for powder coating vs. anno, its all for looks, so just do which you think looks better. Although I personnaly love an anno job that changes color as you look from different angles (http://www.canadianpaintball.com/main/custom.htm)

Didn't mean any offence.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, just don't want someone going to a shop and asking them to anno they're all stainless steel parts.
