vista, especially vista 32, was notorious for issues with video drivers

ok options
1. install card, boot into safe mode and install drivers
2. Upgrade to Win 7 64bit. You have to format to do this, but the computer would handle this way better. Pm for options


you did use the latest 32bit drivers from nvidias website right? or could you never get that far

I could not get that far. I will try what you have suggested. My friend dies tech support for dell, so I will ask him to help me this weekend if this doesn't work. I appreciate the help trancer.

ok, do you have both power connectors attached (on the card) to power sources? make sure you delegate them properly on the PSU. try that first....

dell tech support... doesnt say much about the usefulness of said friend

what you need to do is dump vista. pirate a good win 7 and you should be good to cure the driver issues.

another thing......... what is power supply rating... probably a 315-400 watt so you may need to upgrade that.

He went to school to fix computers. He doesn't work for dell. He works for the third party company that dell uses for their pro support. He got that job while he was still in school. He just graduated and is looking for another job atm. I don't really know a whole lot about computers. I have hooked up a wireless card to a computer once, but that is about all the experience that I have.
