Would a ceramic material be able to be machined to the tolerances needed on a bolt? Or even be able to handle the stresses with such thin dimensions?

I thought the ceramic barrels were still a metal core with a ceramic impregnated coating?

pretty sure JJ ceramics were just aluminum with a teflon coating (aluminum oxide is a ceramic). That's why they had that gaudy gold color until they switched to the flat black

I am 99.9% sure your correct.

As for the question on ceramic being strong enough? Yes we have strong enough Ceramic's that this can be done. Weigh less then anything, strong enough to make cans, body's etc from.

That said. Do you wanna buy a $20,000 shocker? Me either, lol.

So it is again a question of cost vs practicality.

Test day:

Heading to Classic-Paintball in about an hour. I will do everything I can to get the person filming to host the video on youtube tonight so I can share the information with you all.
I am going to have #'s from the test right after.

I am going to use the marker before the test while it is cold, looking for shoot down, paint breakage etc.
Around 3pm we will setup and get this case of paint shot

keep on mind if its a cold or hot fill plz

EDIT: Hot fill would be the most accurate for giving people "on the field" numbers, as most players fills air right before entering the field.
Cold fill would show what its actually capable of.

Temp was cold and windy.
Chrono was avg 288 fps, chrono averaged it.

Testing was a success.

Tank would only fill to 4k,so on a 68/4500 tank.
Shot a full 240 round prophecy v2 and 9 full dye lock lids with no shoot down. The chrono speed was spot on through the entire test.

Shot the first 4 pods, chrono'd,then every other pod was checked.
I know it could have shot a half to another full pod but I was out of paint, also had my kids with me to play paintball today and did not want to let them run a muck, lol

Well over 1600 shots on a 4k fill with a 68 bottle.
Stock bolt guide,not modded,rhino spring,un modded delrin sleeve,ATLas bolt and a non H/E can.

I am 300% this is the ready to ship product.

Every bolt will be tested prior to ship.I have 9 shockers to do this,so you will not have a issue when you get your bolt.

You will also get all moving oring and rhino spring with your new bolt.

Video will bee loaded tonight or tomorrow.I did not have a camera to do this with,so I am at the mercy of the help who did the video.

I can assure you this will be a drop in and shoot, low pressure bolt that will gain over 70% in efficiency gains over the H/E bolt.

ZERO,ZERO, nada, Not one broken ball on 3 cases of paint shot today,I have yet to break a ball since this bolt went into the gun.

Thanks for your patience.

Impressive numbers, how does your bolt differ from a stock bolt? It's tough to believe you're getting those kinds of numbers by just improving the flow path.

If it still uses the HE ring, that generates minor rearward force - really, really optimized setups, even pre-spring mod, can be impressively efficient. (Ydna's Dark shocker with an HE delrin posted impressive numbers, and if he isn't a reliable source, who is?)

However, setting up the gun in that manner is very friction dependent. Increasing the shifting forces (the PE approach) tends to lead to a more reliable efficiency floor and a higher efficiency ceiling.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the bolt, but it seems odd to not post a picture of it.
