FOV 80 is perfect. Even in a raven with nice peripheral, 90 is just too much. Plus I feel like at that view there is lag between when I move my mouse and when the torso turns, at 80 it's pretty much pinpoint movement.

I've found the GC to be easily the most OP mech. No heat, gauss hidden in side torsos, arms as shields, still fast. No other mech can match it 1v1 besides maybe certain lights - but even then it only takes one or two shots to die. At least with a streak boat you can shoot off the arms.

Anyways the Cicada looks cool

It is OP until you run out of ammo... Then you're a sitting duck.

Hero mech is a centy... Interesting, I like the one I have, let's see what this one comes with.

I'd bet GC's never see live, they probably wont even make it to open beta.

The devs don't give a **** about gc's. They have repeatedly been given chances to fix it somehow and they ignore it. Personally I am ok with them, just because if they piss me off I'll hop into one the next round and rape someone else with it. For the most part unless I'm playing a heavy I know I can outrun their torso twist, so I can circle strafe and run for cover.

I would bet they change the available slots on the torso and force them to mount the GRs on the arms. I queued with some friends yesterday for an 8 GC group, there was no counter. The damage was just unreal and any competitve scene will be Gauss Cats everywhere.

A streak cat will rip a gauss cat to pieces all day long. same thing with a lrm cat, the counter to the gauss cat is streak boats with lrm boats backing them up.... once the torso shake comes into play the guass cat is a useless sitting duck. hell 1 v 1 a streak boat will rock a gauss cats world.

8 GC's focus firing = there is no counter. Lights cant stay alive long enough to effectively spot and streak boats don't match the punch. LRM boats are then playing the constant backpedal game and once you close range, game over.

I have yet to be in a game wear the streak cats don't rock the Gc's. i've been in 2 v 2 situations of me and a GC vs two streak cats and we can't even hit them there is so much torso rock from the constant barrage.


8 streak cats would beat 8 guass cats hands down. the streak missles hit center torso or hud over 80% of the time.

You have to close to range though for the streak cats. If a gc sees you coming those ears are toast.

The Gauss Cats have what, a 400m range advantage? It is likely an 8 on 4 by the time the Streak Cats are in range. 8 GCs shooting the same target = annihilation.

whatever you say, i've watch streak cats and lrm cats play they can easily rack up 800-1000damage. a game where a gc is capped at around 700.

Streak and LRM Cats are glass cannons. If everyone ignores them, yes they put up incredible numbers. However all it takes is a couple bursts into their arms and they lose 99% of their firepower. For Gauss Cats, the arms are just an extra layer of armor. You shoot just one arm off a Streak/LRM Cat, their effective firepower plummets. You shoot both arms off a Gauss Cat, it is still dealing max punishment. I am positive the devs did not intend for Catapults to have two Gauss Rifles mounted in its torso, the only question is when/how will they address it.

It depends on what engine/armor/other armaments they mount. I can see someone stripping all arm, some leg, getting a small xl engine and getting potentially 80 shots.

With a group focus firing, you only need 20-30 rounds per match unless your aim is just awful.

Yea, that's with a group. With PUG you never know what you'll end up with, so it's always nice to pack some extra ammo.
