I think it was some sort of spam, because the winning user upped his own bid like six times. There have been tons of stunts like this, like with the persona who sold the meaning of life for a million dollars. This was probably just the seller making a different account and buying it this high to make people start threads like this.
If you look at the bids list, there are only two major bidders, and the same bidder upped his own bids numerous times.
