When I want a Coke, I'll say, "give me a Coke"... Not, "give me a pop" or "give me a soda"
And I've never put peanuts in any of them

I can kinda agree with that.

I don't think I can agree with that, though.
...but I'd rather not get into a debate about this stuff in this thread. Eisenhower was a career military man, btw, which is something I will not be.
I'd rather call it "pop" than refer to everything as "coke". That one baffles me. And peanuts.... Wtf?

Hard to say at this point. They're at least third, and I would put them second.

Genius!

I was referring to the lack of any form of defense whatsoever in that game.

Last night was a gimmick, and I didn't like it. The uniforms didn't look as bad on field as I expected, but the helmets were terrible.

You should have seen the look that Mark May shot Lu when he said that he saw absolutely no difference between S. Carolina and Alabama. It was priceless.

South Carolina is the #1 challenger for the national title. I would have to disagree with the second part of his argument though; there's a pretty big difference between USCe and 'Bama.

It's like watching someone play a football video game.

I'd rather see a defensive struggle than both teams scoring 50+. But I have to agree with drummer; I'd rather see two teams who are competent on both sides of the ball.

I don't like Florida ahead of South Carolina, and I don't like Notre Dame in the top 5.

I like that much better than the AP poll. WVU should definitely still be ahead of UF at this point.

If I were a head coach at a school I'd definitely use all the resources I had. I wouldn't use different uniforms every game though. I'd find a single uniform for every game, with maybe a variant for one special game a year. I'd focus on building a great stadium with a great atmosphere (which Oregon has done a tremendous job at). I'd probably look at things like shoes and socks by Nike. Things that players would find cool to wear, yet still within the framework of the school's standard uniform.

I disagree somewhat. I think we should support the troops, as in giving our thanks to the individuals who are willing to serve in our military and at times risk their lives. What we shouldn't support is senseless violence which is ordered by our political leaders. It's beating a dead horse at this point, but Bush went into Iraq and kept us there far longer than we should have been there. He and his administration are the ones we should show disdain for, not the people in the military who have no choice in where they are deployed and what wars we are involved in.

Ugh.... looking over the games and rosters and such.... Our defense has a lot of seniors... So it's decent right now, but it'll be bad again next year. Dammit. At least the offense is full of younger guys..... But honestly, this year will be the best chance for the ducks to win it all.... And then the SEC will keep a stranglehold on it for the next few years again.
....I need to just pick a random SEC team and become a mild fan.

Cecil is a very good writer. While he covers Bama and is a fan, he keeps a very level head about it all. I got to know him when I covered sports around the state. He's always been one of my favorite sports writers.
