Failing/retaking a class?
How many people have done it? I've had to retake IT 101 (I got a D) because I didn't show up to class. Little did I know that this homo was giving in-class quizzes almost every class (which make up 35% of your grade).
Let's hear your stories!

I've never had to retake a class but it sucks for people who genuinely bust their *** in a class and still wind up failing.
On the other hand, I can't help but laugh at the dumb ****s who skip every class then ***** about having to retake it. (This isn't aimed at you specifically, by the way).

Oh I see, you failing the class on purpose makes the professor a homosexual, makes sense.

Its round two of calc one for me. We spend 40 minutes learning the proofs then get a basic example and are sent home to teach yourself the rest.

welcome to calculus
For calc 2 and multivariate calc 3, my professors would basically do this:
-Give most basic examples of material saying this is enough material to do homework
-Assign homework that is nothing like material discussed
-Give test that are nothing like homework or lectures, Then tell everyone that you are using some obscure problem and method not discussed in the book and if we had gone outside the class to research the topic more we would have made an A. Sounds great and all but what they really meant was you need to read every paper they have ever published to get an idea of what they will put on the test.

Dont be silly, calc one isnt hard. Do the book work, make some study friends and you'll be fine. Yea, you might have to put some time into it, but what the **** else are you going to do, play video games and surf the web?

I just understood that when he put,
"Its round two of calc one for me. We spend 40 minutes learning the proofs then get a basic example and are sent home to teach yourself the rest."
Your response was, "welcome to calculus". So I interpreted that you were saying calc1 was hard. No hard feelings? ))<>((

I got a couple of D's my sophomore year because I had an entire year of, "I really hate this and I don't give the slightest ****." Most of my classes required that you get a C- or better to go on to the next class, but lucky for me, my D's were in classes that didn't matter so I didn't have to retake them. I had to drop differential equations halfway through the semester to avoid failing and I retook it the next semester.

I have failed several. College is a nightmare for a kinesthetic learner.

Lmao, it was Fall 2010 for me was when I said **** programming/computer science. Just ain't right taking three classes in CS and only being a total of three girls in them. To top if off, Mrs. Wang used analogies like a muffin and a cup... wtf?

Got a D in Geology my freshman year. Class was painfully boring, far away, and had a 3 hour lab every week... That's the closest I ever got. Still graduated on time and with extra credits so suck mah balls rocks.

failed my first class this past summer..principles of finance. It was a blended class, teacher had no office hours, no tutoring was available, and didn't know anyone in class to seek help. I was taking 2 other summer classes and working about 45 hours between 2 jobs; didn't leave me much time to study.

Happens to the best of them. Never "failed", but in the business school you can not receive below a C+ on certain classes. A C+ is 75%, got a 75..... retook and received a B+

The closest I ever came to failing was a C in intro to geology. The same semester I took soil mechanics and got an A. The next semester I took an advanced geotechnical engineering class and got an A. It seems strange that I did so poorly in geology, yet everyone tells me it's one of the easiest classes they've ever taken.

I have yet to meet anyone in the Purdue engineering program that passed every class the first time around. Here it happens so often that your counselors tell you it doesn't matter as long as you get through it at some point.
