Valken Proton leak issue
I have a proton that is leaking through grip frame. Through what i believe to be the purge hole. Oring between the asa and grip frame seem to be in good shape. Not sure how much knowledge on the proton there is out there as of now. Just thought I would give it a shot. Hope someone can help Thanks.!

Leaking between the Asa and the grip frame??
Tighten the two screws on the lower end of the grip frame. Mine did the same thing out of the box. Just tighten those two screws and it'll stop leaking.

No, its leaking on the side of the grip frame. Through the hole above the two set screws. Between the asa and grip frame is fine.

Drop some oil in it, and cycle the ASA a few times. The purge might be sticking

Any update on a fix to this problem? I bought a proton a few weeks ago and am having this same issue.

Yeah, when I first chrono'ed my proton out of the box, it was shooting at 200fps. After gradually adjusting the regulator to the max, it was only shooting 230fps. Also, I notice that when I fire the gun, there is air leaking out the grip frame (where the small hole is next to the regulator. I assume that these issues are related, but have yet to hear of a fix. I have taken the gun apart, re-lubed the bolt, lubed regulator, etc...

I just had the exact problem this weekend with my gun, 230 fps is about the max I was getting and any higher and it starts leaking out the grip frame. Still confused on what to do because I re-lubed everything and its still doing it.

Sounds like air isn't purging from the front of the bolt for a few people. I haven't really delved that deep into my proton yet but........ it may not be a tough fix.
I would suggest putting a drop of oil into the noid. It may free things up so it can open the inner workings a bit better. Run some through the asa as well. If you've played more than a few cases on one battery, change it out. Your noid may not have enough power for the gun to cycle fully, it's a clapper noid and won't run long on one 9 volt.
Service your regulator. Take it apart and oil it up...make sure everything is running smoothly in there.
If you've messed with your dwell settings in the past without issue, then raise it back up to stock again.

Still can't get it right. Not sure what I've done wrong. I can have a store look at it for free so I guess I will do that.

I'm guessing a leak will cause low pressure.....and low velocity. Make sure you have a good battery as well, or the gun won't fully cycle which can also kill velocity.

Shop fixed it, I forgot what they called it but the brass part on the regulator, they said they tightened that and it might be happening because of vibrations from the gun shooting I guess. Haven't chrono'd yet but I turned the regulator so that it would increase the fps and there isn't a leak. I guess I will find out for sure next time I play. Thanks for the concern!
