I think the real question is, how much would cost to get this done?

I think you may be confusing powder coating with something else. The plastic trim panels in cars are either painted, hydrodipped (all the fake wood grain from the factory, coated in a soft touch rubber coating, or are left bare abs.

There is a UV cure that can be done on some plastics but it is so limited and so expensive there are few companies that can do it and it is essentially limited to massive companies doing production runs. The oil filters on cars are a UV cured powder which is a completely different type of powder.

However using a conventional powder on plastic is a very different process which took a great deal of time to develop and is not common knowledge. In fact I have been approached by large companies about it specifically asking me how I completed the task.

The trim pieces in a car are ABS plastic, by nature it cannot begin to go through half the process required to be powder coated.

Always going to be a soft spot in me for a nice Mag. Now I can see why the mini design is such a good seller. AGD beat them to it by about 12 years
