One thing about a lot of pumps that could be seen as an advantage is that a lot of them are less complicated, as far as construction and mechanics go, than their semi auto counterparts. Makes them generally easier to maintain and a lil more reliable. I'm not saying that there aren't ridiculously reliable semi's out there. Just, well, when I crack open a phantom, and 3 moving parts are all that's in there to keep an eye on, well, that's rather nice.
So, yeah, simplicity. That's an advantage, at least to me.

advantages; smaller gravity fed hopper + 13ci. tank = lighter set up, you'll carry 1/3 the paint you did when playing semi, all this means you can move faster.

phantoms are always a good way to go for decently cheap and you can have a lot of fun upgrading and playing with them. also im wondering if anyone knows a website or somewhere near OR that sells a CCM Carbon Fiber pump kit for my trilogy autococker.

CCM doesnt make a trilogy pump kit. Also they have discontinued the CF handles as well. SO you will have to make your own kit or modify and existing pump kit.

There is an adapter that will allow you to put a 99 CCM kit on a Trilogy, but the carbon handles have been sold out for years.

Old post, I know, but in case you haven't looked into it already, HPA should be just fine in your Ranger, though low velocity may be an issue.

Also can I adjust velocity on it and how? Some people said that you have to do it through the barrel.

The guns that are adjustable in that family require a large allen key to adjust through the bolt, yes. Remove your barrel to look for that hex hole in the bolt.

I might have posted this elsewhere, but I like going after Pumps. Not because I can overwhelm them with an auto (mine is a three shot if I am lucky). But, they are good players and I feel a sense of accomplishment IF I take them out and genuine good nature knowing I was schooled rather than being ousted by a lucky SOB throwing 15+ paint balls my way. I want to get a pump as a back up gun or for when I am low on paint.

When buying a cci phantom--- Make sure it has the 45 grips. Other than that you should get the cheapest phantom there is because you can always buy parts to add on to them. I bought the VSC phantom for 325 and figured out that I didn't like playing vsc. I then changed my setup to a basic open class. needless to say I overspent by 100 bucks, so don't make that mistake
