I had a similar problem only like 10 times worse. I'm 6 feet tall with would put the feedneck at approximately 5'8". I had noticed in a previous tournament that while shooting my axe it turned my z2 into a blender which was unusual for my hopper. I switched over to a Prophecy LTD but had the same problem. That was about 5 months ago and I just recently took my Axe out to find out if the problem was blowback. It turns out it was. The ball right above the one in the breech would jump up 6 feet. I know that sounds outrageous but it really happened to me. I switched at all the orings on the bolt guide but if I remember correctly I still think I had a good amount of blowback, maybe a couple inches. I had a great experience with the boss bolt before but the blowback issue definitely soured it for me a little. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had this problem.

Well stupid me lost one of those orings down the drain doh. So I have two. But I was told the bolt guide I'm getting has new orings on it so hopefully that'll help. If not its probably the poppet face.

Will see what happens later today when I get my new bolt guide. Hopefully the leak at least stops and blow back. Will check back

Make sure to reset your poppet with the initial air up.

And just my luck. New bolt guide doesn't fix it.

Must be the poppet causing the problem. This sucks. So tired of replacing parts.

Is my check valve missing? Could this be the cause of the leak? And blowback?

Switched some parts with my friends gun and the leak is for sure from the poppet. Put my poppet in his gun and it leaked. Put his poppet in my gun and it sealed.

Ordering a new poppet. Woo.

It looks to me like you don't have a gasket. Which would explain why you're having blowback issues.
Go here: http://www.piranha-evil.com/AXE.htm

Part 8 is what you're looking for. I honestly don't know what the check valve looks like but in any case, that website has the check valve in stock

Hahah oh yeah my bad. I removed it to see if I could get the check valve hole to show up better.

I have that gasket so no worries.

It does look like your check valve is missing in that picture, it would be a clear/white piece in the first small hole to the left of the largest hole.

Actually, if you Google image "axe check valve" the first few pictures should help with the check valve.

Yeah. I've taken it apart so many times it seems to have fallen out. So don't know if it is related to my problem. Hopefully the new poppet. Bolt orings. And check valve solve it all

Yeah, no check vale will cause breaks and bad consistancy. Maybe add to the blow back problem as well.

There should be a replacement poppet face, poppet oring and check valve in your parts kit that come with the marker. Can maybe start with those if you have them.

Bought it used so no parts kit. Already ordered my parts from Boss so it's all good.

Boss, what do you think would cause 6 feet of blowback like I described early? I just check and apparently my check valve feel out sometime. So I assume that when I was having blowback issues I didn't have a check valve but would missing such a small part give me that drastic of a result?

The check valve can cause velocities variations like +/-40 fps, so I bet it could cause massive blowback since the flow isn't being restricted at all.

Alright well I just sold my boss bolt so I can't use that to see if the problem was with the bolt also or just the check valve. Hopefully it all works now and I won't have any Easter eggs left to discover.

Check valve can cause major issue because it messes with the timing of the bolt.
