btw, looking at AKG K550s at the moment. Not sure if I'll need an amp. They're like 32ohms

Beyerdynamic does make different impedance versions of their cans. So if you were heartset on 770/880/990, you could get the 80/32ohm versions rather than the 250/600ohm versions.

Just some food for thought. AKG does make some good stuff though.
