What aftermarket triggers are available for the excal and viking besides those made by JMJ?

My Excal came with an Acid Customs trigger on it, and it's super-duper nice. But pricey methinks (if you can even still buy them?)

Yes, John (acid customs) still makes them. You'll have to wait a few weeks since he makes them to order and he lives in Australia, but they are the nicest ones I've used. Froth also made some very nice triggers but you'll have a hard time tracking one down as he quit a few years ago and you most people aren't looking to sell the ones they have. FBM made one, although I wasn't too impressed with the one I owned.

And of course JMJ made a number of triggers that were really great. Destructive customs still has some JMJ triggers to sale, and they are the easiest to find in the BST as there are quite a bit out there.

AC triggers are quite nice. If you can find a froth trigger you'll be quite happy but they don't come up in BST all that often.

I used to prefer the JMJ Razors, but i got a Nurvous magnetic trigger with my last Viking and the feel is even better. It fits super tight and the magnet makes it really snappy and responsive. I whould recommend it any day.

If you do go with John ask for one with a magnet . I bought one like that and made the mistake of getting one without which was bouncy as hell even with a tadao boards bounce filters

I personally don't like the Nurvous. I used it for years, but eventually traded it out with a Razor, and now shoot a carbon fiber trigger from Acid Customs, I think it's the Talon model, in the PM5 UL frame that is on the Vik now. The Nurvous had too much bend in it, and the Talon has about half the Nurvous's bend, or perhaps less, which IMHO is perfect.

The razor / Groud is totally industry standard, the Swing is the most common trigger design today (and I don't like it) and the Grum..I don't know a JMJ equivalent.

The raguba triggers look good to me. I think I'd want the grum, though I wish the trigger didn't eliminate so much usable surface area at the top with its shape.

Raguba was offering those in 2004. Before many other companies did I think. They were really well finished too. There are a few missing from that pic (not for AKA though.)

And you are right that Raguba's swing has been around for a lot longer than it has been the most popular trigger design. I generally hate that design, but the raguba one is pretty good because the lowest portion of the trigger doesn't curve so that it is unusable as a part of the trigger. It levels out so it can actually be reached.

Raguba triggers are really great, worth the cost.

It should be noted that a triggers beauty in shape has nothing to do with its functionality. Swing is sexy but the Grum is lightning fast.

I must admit that i agree with you on that, but i still hope i can adjust it to sit better. Half the S-bend whould be good, but this is a bit much.
I'm gonna try and put magnets in my Razors. That whould probably be really nice.

The Grum was a Razor 2. Not a lot produced as it required more "modification" time.

The Razor triggers came out in 2001-2002. They were my design I passed on to JMJ to make as I simply ran out of time to make them. The Grum, as stated above is a modified Razor that also came out in 2001-2002. Both were available on DBN for a good while. The swing is a remake of another JMJ trigger whose name currently escapes me. I didn't design or make it so it doesn't stick in my head. It sucks getting old.
