Okay...necro post, I know. I really dug what Tankd did for us also. Thanks for all the props. One of our guys (Jr.) had them done.
I just wish the we were allowed to wear t-shirts underneath. We had to take the t's off due to the padding in the jersey's. I had heard about the rule but decided to see if it would be enforced. Unfortunately, it was enforced three points into our match with Long Beach and had us scrambling in the pits to get right.
My fault for testing the rule, but I have a question:

Given the very thin padding on these jerseys, does anyone think that the t-shirt underneath will make a significant difference and cause a ball not to break? (I was also told it was a safety rule so players didn't overheat...don't we play in the winter months for most of the season?)
Thoughts?

Playing on national tv changes things. To keep things exciting, they probably wanted as few bounces as possible. The concept of getting shot and not being 'out' is something a first time viewer might find to be a major flaw in the game. Broadcast requires tighter, plainly objective enforcement of rules. When you watch it on tv and see people flying all over the field, majors turning games around, and paint blowing up off every shot, that's exciting. That's what turns people on to paintball. I'm sure that won't be enforced anywhere in ncpa besides nationals

It's actually pretty easy. Seeing the player jerk when he gets hit, watching the ball hit the armpad, etc. When we watched it air on tv my friends noticed it and were wondering if they are out if it bounces.

More to the point, do you all think the addition of the t-shirt effects ball bounce given what passes for "padding" on jerseys?

There are some good looking NCPA jerseys... Here is my "concept" for University of Cincinnati.
