yo aussie, it's weird to me that (since you're down under) you watch football in the morning. Does it make the monday go by faster? Instead of monday night football is it Tuesday morning football?

Terrabyte, USB-powered, and uses USB 3 while being compatible with USB 2. You can go bigger if you want and I'd recommend a cheap case for under $10 if you plan to carry it around often.

I don't trust purpose-built external hard drives for backup. Lots of little problems with those: Cheap drives, poor cooling, fragile USB micro connectors, failure-prone I/O boards, and short warranties. WD My Books in particular can be trouble if the I/O board goes, because the entire drive is hardware-encrypted, whether you use that feature or not.

Buying an internal drive and external enclosure is preferred.

That said, I do have a 1TB My Book and a 1TB Passport, but the My Book is a third redundant backup (Behind an internal drive and a hotswap drive) and the Passport is just for moving data around.

Really the best time to get external drives is when they're marked way down for some reason. I don't think they're worth it at regular price.

i do have an instagram but I hardly ever use it. (Maybe because my 3GS camera blows) Honestly it is a great tool for photographers, the idea of having a camera with you at all times is great. It is a fad and it will pass...eventually
