You'll also notice the speed feed on the pink gun, looks like one of those ones JT came out with AGES ago, you had to put funny lids on your pods, cant remember what it was called.
-Notice the weird way the hopper is connected? You can see it better on the red gun as its in blue? Not sure of the significance of that, but theres probably a very good reason behind it and its got me curious.
-Making an assumption that the pink and silver guns are the same model (based on the way their hoppers are mounted), the silver cylinder coming off the silver gun just behind the guys hand (purple mask guy) is a grip. Would love to know what the huge chunk of metal he's gripping is for (just above), the pink gun has a hole thru this area... The silver gun has a drop, cant tell what the ASA is feeding to, but guessing by the pink gun, the guys hand is covering a feed in to that lump of metal, and integral regulator maybe? The pink gun however has some kind of regulator (thinking CP) before its air feed, meaning that area might be an LPR, or they might be CO2 based markers and its an integrated expansion chamber
The important part:
-Notice the massive angle of inclination of the two guys shootings guns? Either they've just spun and are in a funny position, or more likely, based on the guy with the pink/red guns stance, they are in the process of firing. The angle of inclination indicates either massive range, or more likely based on what i've read here - lower velocity, meaning they have to arc the balls to reach the other end of the field. From experience of a very dodge tippmann shooting at around 225, hitting the other end of a 5 man field is possible, meaning theres a chance they're only shooting 200fps (or 177 as someone else commented)
-AND: copy the picture, zoom on the hoppers - notice the balls seem much smaller than our .68 cals? Someone mentioned using a smaller caliber, they were right.
For those of you that have read this far, and have perhaps zoomed the picture, note the air system coming off someones back just down and right of the purple mask - looks like a scuba tank adapter!?!? would love to know why they have that...
Will review the website and do a bit more investigating. Yes I'm bored

Seems there was a restriction on pressurised cylinders of some sort. 40atm is 588psi, the 1/3 to 1/5 indicated that the maximum allowed is under 200psi.
The website also has info on a gun similar to the silver and pink ones in the picture, with its spec as 11mm (about .43 caliber) marker.
obviously not the same gun, but similar design.
Will keep hunting
EDIT: rubbish little paintball video, awful music, but shows what they were shooting in Japan (dunno the year)

Nope, a bit earlier. The Green Flex-7 was part of the "Ize" series that was released back in 1999, along with translucent blue, red, and grey. The purple and brown ones came out about a year later. I've still got a blue Ize mask here somewhere.
The JT Speedloader pods you were thinking about were called Slam Pods.
Anyway, this is largely irrelevant because of something I've discovered:
The man in the purple mask is Bob Long.
The image is heavily photoshoped.

Hmmm... Let's see here... I speak japanese.
First of all, just because you cannot get a translation online does not mean the word doesn't exist. It's weird, but japanese does not easily translate electronically.
BUT, the fact the the letter "hu" doesn't exist kind of throws a wrench into the whole thing. You were so close threadstarter. You just screwed up by putting in a non existent letter. Drats! So much hard work and you screwed it all up.
Shens.

no to the last part, the reason their barrels are at a massiv inclination is obviously because their barrels were touching the pbc pipe(start box) above their heads, the start horn was just sounded and they are bringing it down to shoot.

hmm... i looked at the website someone linked and in japan it seems that they use regular guns...i saw some spyder pilots and timmies. Most had grav hoppers though. I saw one vl revolution and one halo. I also saw some cockers. Most of them had jerseys and pants but grav feed hoppers lol. Someone loaded there pod with regular caliber draxxus paint.

All this speculation here seems silly when there's an actual thread by actual people that actually play ball in Japan, right were you'd expect it, it the regional players forum, surprised it hasn't been linked yet. https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=1349705&page=3
but yeah, paintball does exist here, we use real markers with real loaders, the problem is people started doing crazy crap to their airsoft guns and shooting people in parks and such, so the government made some laws about the velocity of the balls, which, by default effect paintball too. It's kinda gray right now.
and about half the ballers here are foreigners, so the red hair guy. . . more than likely at the apex field (which from what i hear, sux)
