I guess that's actually the rule. People are saying if you throw a challenge flag on a scoring play (which would normally be reviewed) you can't review it. Which doesn't make any sense to me, but apparently if Schwartz didn't throw the flag it would have been reviewed and probably called back.

I wonder if Kaep will start from here on out or if its just because Alex is still not cleared for contact and they want their QB to have the full week to prepare for NO? I know Kaep will eventually be better than Alex but im worried about those mistakes that every young QB makes. I still trust Alex to read a defense and make the right decision more than i do Kaep. Only time will tell i guess.

Dude are you dense? He stated its not injury related.

You know, if theyre serious about protecting the players, plays like that have to be reviewable. A lions player could have come in and crushed him

You're right. Now all the people who just posted about how the replacement officials weren't that bad can eat a dick because they wouldn't have even known that rule existed.

No idea. That one's on the NFL though, not the refs. That may be the dumbest rule in pro sports.

I guess I can understand some penalty yardage, but to cancel the review of a play that should be reviewed is beyond retarded.

lions shoulda pulled their team and refused to come back out. that was the definition of bull****. if i was schwartz i woulda gotten tossed and if the lions were out of payoff contention i would refuse to play the rest of the game.

not really, dude was clearly down and the refs didn't blow the whistle because they ate ****ing retarded, on top of that, i doubt the bull**** rule they cited about challenging even exists since ALL scoring plays are automatically looked at. blown call of all blown calls. they knew it was wrong but let it stand anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's a real rule. They did **** up by not blowing the whistle, but that IS the whole point of having touchdown reviews. Schwartz should have known that rule, despite how moronic it is.

like i said, it probably doesn't apply to that situation. im almost willing to bet the rule was misused/misapplied

It's actually good to see the refs let a play run. Why? Because a play like that can always be reviewed and called back whereas a play could occur and a player could not be down but the refs blow the whistle and end the play. In that case the other team would be screwed because the play wouldn't be reviewable. It's understandable why they'd let it run and correct it afterwards. It's not their fault Schwartz threw the challenge flag. If you've got an issue with the play its with the rules of the NFL not the refs.

no, its not. that call cutoff not have been more blown. they talk about player safety but don't blow the whistle on blatant sit like that? if a Detroit player had come in and wiped that dude out he woulda gotten penalized.
