I think it's very funny. I don't see it as being offensive nor do I really understand how it can be construed as such, but I do see a kind of funny tension between the fact that it's a sacred image but it's being presented in a medium usually reserved for childrens cartoon heroes or santa claus. That to me can be interpreted alot of different ways, and I think it's actually extremely clever.

No doubt some people are going to draw comparisons with this and piss christ but I don't see that the two are related at all. As I said, I see this as being pretty clever while piss christ was just cheap whoring of an offensive idea in the hopes to get attention.

I don't think that was the reaction people had. I think the catholics were more offended at the fact that he was created nude at a time when they are celebrating their Lent season (Holy days?). I think MVP got it right.

With all the awful things in the Catholic church, there is other things they should be concerned with.

IDK. Would it appear more offensive to the clergy or the parishoner(sp?)? Either way, I think it is in poor taste (no pun intended), but I agree in the freedom of expression. Don't like it? Don't see it.
