I don't think they are dead quite yet... maybe just re-strategizing.

All I know, if performance is par for the course Mr. Italia has a lot to worry about.

That's a different ball game altogether - and there are a lot of rumours about that too.

At this point in time I feel bad for those shops that have this stuff in stock. No one reimburses them for that stock and they pay ahead. What bothers me though, is that most distributors should have known better before signing on or even committing to buying product.

Seems they were selling product on reputation and good praises over anything else.

Who has this crap in stock? I've never seen any of it or heard of anybody actually laying hands on any of it, outside of the initial reviews.

I didn't think it ever even got into the pipeline.

Distributors had to sign off on a minimum amount of product. So some of them have it in stock...

Business decisions most often include an element of risk. Stocking .50 cal products would have been a decision based on speculation. When stocking products on speculation, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I can't say that I feel too sorry for any business that went into an agreement with their eyes open (which they obviously should have).

Huh. Unless the minimum was pretty low, it's hard to believe that anyone would go in for that. What an awful idea. When something is new and controversial like this, they should have been doing everything they could to get it to where paintball players could lay hands on the crap. That might.. might.. have led to a shrugging acceptance that it's here. As it is I don't think most people even know it exists to buy it if they wanted it.

No. Time and patience don't really work when what you need is a return on your investment. There was a lot of money put in to advertising, design work, setting up manufacturing. Every day they're not making significant inroads into getting .50 cal out there is a whole lot of money flushed.

What it takes is lots of capital and a good business plan. The plan seems to be off the wheels and I suspect it's because there was a sudden lack of capital.

lol u guys are nuts - this is only the beginning - GI announced a huge distribution with Valken now the former owner of which was one of the biggest paintball distributors in the US. If i had any money i would invest in GI Milsim - you are talking about the Gardner Brothers "G" makers of some of the best markers out there and richmand Italia "I" who sold his encapsulating company for like 60 million and is back in the industry probably because his non-compete has expired

The markers are hot the reputation of the parties involved in producing great markers is one of the best - 50 is more newb friendly and the guns are being made outside the US which is much cheaper than it ever was for smart parts - watch the bob long 50 caliber movie and you'll understand that 68 will still be around 50 is going to open the door for paintball in countries where it was once illegal = which is why airsoft grew so big now those players have an option and the industry will only get bigger abroad - like they care if the US doesnt adopt .50 cal, the rest of the world will be shooting it since it makes paintball more affordable - just in the cost of air fills alone -

your silly if you cant see the future - all technology eventually gets smaller its the way things work...cars, computers, phones, paintball guns are no different...

This makes things better how? At least when Smart Parts was operating they were emplying people in North America.

I watched it and thought Bob presented himself horribly and presented more logical falacies than a cheese grater has holes.

The problem really isn't with the caliber, it's a Governmental problem with percieved militarization of the populace.

No. I don't think you are qualified to make that statement, nor do I even remotely believe there is any truth to that statement.

Maybe. I think the most important factor with paintball becoming popular abroad is that developing countries had a population base that has disposable income now, which has less to do with the choice between 68 caliber and 50 caliber.

Good, then stop trying to ram it down North America's throat and go somewhere where the benefits outweight the detriments.

That is complete and utter horse hockey pucks. There is no substantial evidence to the affirmative.

Again, that's a big load of compressed "hot" air.

Smaller is not always useful. In fact, too small can become ergonomically stunting.
