if you plan on putting these into "production" u will have to lose the ion setup or smartparts will have a lawsuit on you faster than you can empty your hopper.

Personally, I'd be more interested in building it off of a Cyborg platform... something poppet-based instead of spool-esque.

you can remove the upper housing by removing two screws, so its pretty easy. I purchase the ION retail, so I can do whatever I like with it. If you purchase a product retail, you own it, you have the right to do whatever you like with it. but I will consider using another marker if I can gt it at a lower cost and it has the same or better performance.

Same as a regular marker. It has the ability to shot semi for chronoing.

Actually, if you remove the power supply, I think you wouldn't need a BBD at all.

I'm using this one in a game end of this month to run final test and see how she preforms. So at the end of the month, they will start being sold. I have three more in the works to be completed around the same time.

just out of curiosity, why not re-configure it to use 3 Ion's instead of 1. The purpose of multiple barrels on a fire arm such as that, is to give the barrels time to cool between shots. since PB's dont heat up a barrel at all, the only thing the extra barrels serve is to add weight and rotational mass(like a gyro), I can think of smaller, lighter, faster guns out there that would probably sell for less. Rather than having an 8 barreled spinning mini-pb-gun that only does 30 bps. If you could make it use 3 Ion's as the firing mechanism, then your ROF would increase to 90-ish. That alone would make up for the difference in the extra weight. plus a 2000rnd back-pack would still take a while to deplete. just my cents.

i'd like to see a closed bolt gatling paintball gun. It would need to work a lot more like a real gatling gun.

that is certainly doable, but I was going for the cool factor. I could link up to 20 pb markers to fire all at once, with 20 halo B's. That would get you 600+ rounds per sec. That's an extreme example, but I wanted to build something that was cool to play with and you could actually use on SOME fields. And I wanted it to look close to a real minigun. I completely agree that is isn't truely a paintball minigun because it doesn't have an internal feeding system that can pump out 6000 rounds per sec, but I think its a cool and unique big boy toy. I still have the desire to make a TRUE paintball minigun, but it will take much more research and design work to build. But I wanted to at least get something that worked reliably out to all the people emailed me for one. Thanks for you input, someday i'll figure out the sticking points and be able to go through a case of paint in 20 secs!!!!
