Late in the game late in the day, when I have a rattly hopper, I turn it to the side and shoot blanks at opposing players. Shorty, they figure out I am shooting blanks and ignore my firing, leaving them totally exposed. Pluck them. Try it. It only works once or twice with the same group.
When I am down to 10 balls, I pop the lid and dump out a handfull into my Left hand. Leave the lid UP as a sign post that says I am out of paint and fire blanks. Again they totally ignore me so I drop 3-4 balls in the hopper and tag them. Occasionally I get 2-3 guy with less than 10 paintballs.
You out to see the look on their face when they start to bunker you and POP! Gotcha!
I agree, in recball or scenario play, you can be USEFUL to your team when you are out of air or paint. Start running around drawing fire. Go for a barrel tag. Never walk away without being dead.
I surrendered 12 Boy Scouts with a jammed pump gun a decade or so back. It was get that guy the rest of the day.
Barrel cover on is a universal "player is out". Just like your hand or gun up over your shoulder. Just like calling yourself "Out". People will accuse you of playing on. Dead men tell no tales at most fields. Doesn't apply in tournament ball where it is OK.
Carefully planned irresponsibility is the KEY to mental health.
If you haven't grown up by age 50........
You don't have to......
