I just recently took a flight from NY to Fl. It was really easy, I brought my phantom and tank, and on the way back my Nerve and phantom with 45 tank.

I just told the person I got the tickets from that I had a disassembled "Paintball Marker" in the bag, and a unaired tank (TANK MUST HAVE VALVE REMOVED BEFORE YOU BRING IT TO THE AIRPORT) and also told them I had a paintball mask as a carry on.

They just marked that there was a paintball marker in it, and it was all good.

hey man I would just ship it don't take the chance to many people's stuff was takin away or stolen. you can't even bring a tank. New rules. I'm shipping mine when I go to WV. Make sure you put some major ship insurance more what it worth.

with the tanks now you cann't get any one not even PMI to take the valve off to many people have been hurt or kill because of not installing it back right. With your gun you have to take it a part and even then they make take something.

to answer all the question yes you can bring a tank on board no need to fedex to the place

"Compressed gas cylinders are allowed in checked baggage or as a carry-on ONLY if the regulator valve is completely disconnected from the cylinder and the cylinder is no longer sealed"

So anyone with a screw-in tank is out of luck then? Has anyone flown with a screw-in tank recently? Whats the deal?

According to TSA regs, the regulator assembly must be COMPLETELY removed. Whether the tank is screw-in or not doesn't really matter, the connection in question is that between the tank and anything that is not the tank, which is a standardly-threaded screw-in connection.

Basicallly, the TSA wants to be able to look INSIDE the tank.

How is taking your reg off impossible? As long as TSA knows what their doing, its quite easy and foolproof.

My team has flown a few times with our guns. Twice we have just stuffed the emptied tanks and guns into suitcases...
One time we were forced to fedex them all to our hotel when we flew to Arizona....that was a pain..

the gun is the only think you must check, the tank can be carry-on. call the airport of your departure and where you land to find out there policy on air tanks. i know my airport you just have to remove the burst disc(s) but at ohare, you need to remove the reg.

this has been discussed ad nauseaum in other forums.
basically you cannot bring your tank on board with the valve/'reg still attached, you'll need to have someone remove. it. Or better yet have it shipped to your destination. Federal TSA rules. I know of at least one local team thats had to leave their tanks at the airport when traveling to a tournament.

markers can be brought on as checked luggage if dissassembled.

I travel from MA to Pittsburgh a lot and I mean a lot. Most of the time I do bring my stuff and not once was I aloud to bring my tank on empty or not. However as long as you check your gun you'll be fine.

You can send the tank via airmail but they always ask me if it has been filled. Say no and you'll be fine. But the worst that could happen is sending it 4 day ground. So if you'r going anywhere send it 5 days ahead of time of where you are going.
