Takes a long time, and sometimes you break the block underneath, but you can destroy them.

Please do not put that terrorist skin/sound in. God is it funny, but have about 1-2 creepers that sound would annoy the heck outta me.

I think you can install the jihad mod for just yourself if you want, and it will work for your multiplayer experience.
