It was fun the couple games we got to play. No one was tryin to play with the walk ons. We just want to play against good people and get better. Thanks NW Devastation for playing against us for those couple of games.

It's a bummer you guys only got a couple games in. Teams need to be aware when there are other players looking to play and should do there best to incorporate all the free agents. I heard it was a busy day out there, and I'm sure if it were any other weekend, you would have gotten more play time.

As announced prior to opening for Sunday, which was in addition to the regularly scheduled Saturday practice, we were short of staff. (I was the only adult) No doubt there should have been better flow control of the teams on the field. My apologies. Ridges is all about getting new players in the sport and helping to improve their skills.
gMoe, you've been pm'ed about ways we're willing to help with that.

Replying to gMoe and others. I was some nobody that just showed up with dated equipment and and non-descript t-shirt and pants. Nobody told me I couldn't be on their team that day.
When I walked on the field I straight up asked people if they needed players. They either said they did or they didn't. Almost every time I asked people said yes. I didn't feel as if anyone was playing favorites or anything.
A lot of people drove a long distance to be there. I'm sure some of those players wanted to ball with their buddies and I don't want to blame them. You can't expect everyone to politely ask before they go on the field "Who wants to play a game of speedball?"

It's basically how you carry yourself. If you go down the the skatepark underneath the Burnside bridge or some killer break on Hawaii, don't expect for some stranger to hi-five you and say "Hey man, good to see you!"
You gotta earn it. You paddle into that wave or you drop in and you shred or you bail. Whatever happens you get back up and do it again and don't look back.

I played a few games with the walkons as well did most of shooters. We had an issue with one player but thats another issue. I didnt get much play time myself only like 4 or 5 games but it was a super busy day which was nice to see for a change. And good god what is DBS doing up there creating an army?

While we haven't got dates yet for February, we want to know if there is enough interest for a practice this Sunday the 30th. Didn't think our guys would be up again so soon after last weekend's two day ballfest. So post up if yer interested and if there's enough then maybe we'll take advantage of the predicted good weather.

Going to have to pull the plug on this Sunday because of insufficient numbers. Thanks to the guys that posted up. So, NO PRACTICE THIS WEEKEND.

In case you haven't seen the price increase info in the first post of this thread that was posted a week or so ago, please do so. We held the line as long as we could ( the woods ball field raised it's prices as of Jan 1st) but paint and other costs have recently increased and with the need to improve and replace components of the field makes it necessary.
To offset the paint cost to you we are offering $5 off the first case of paint per visit for those players that produce a PacPb ID card AND on top of that everyone purchasing a case will receive a coupon worth 10% off the purchase of any item at NW Ambush in Battle Ground (max value $20).
