I root for them because they are the home team, and it's good to see a team representing New England.

now going back to what someone mentioned about loyalty. Yes 187 is very loyal to each other and Dave. however take away their sposnsorship from Fox4, do you think they would still be loyal to one another??? My moneys on NO
Tough to say what they'd do. Truth is some of my guys have had other opportunities. Opportunities that would have been easier on their wallets and they still decided to stay with the team. However, I think it's safe to say that without the support our sponsors give us they wouldn't be where they are today. For the most part they'd still be playing locally or not at all.

My statement is not meant to be taken at a dig at 187, Fox4, or Dave Painter. Its more of an alternate view to all the fanboys who post how loyal the team is to one another and their sponsors, yet fail to realize why they are so loyal to each other. Granted that they are all friends NOW aside from being teammates, which I feel is the most important aspect on forming a winning team, whos to say what would happen if someone with a bigger wallet, more exposure, more sponsorship opportunities came in and tried to purge 187 of its top talent.

I think Dave just said it has and they stayed.

If the Fox situation changed and Dave could no longer support 187 on a Pro level. I imagine that most if not all would disperse into other high level teams. Not because of a lack loyalty but probably because once you play at that level I'm sure its near impossible to go backwards. Thats why you dont see many pros just going back and playing D1.....they usually just stop playing.

As long as Dave can provide an enviroment that allows his guys to be competitive in the Pro division I don't see them leaving.

didnt bj, brian, and noel come off of Armageddon? nick roberts and josh pike both played for NEAA at some point. Josh pike, all of last season, and nick roberts the couple seasons before that, which makes it fun to root for those two guys, they have a great chance, and im rooting that they will run with it.

This has been a nice read. I got nostalgic, and came here to see if anyone was still posting. I am trying to find someone to go to MAO with, so I may see you guys play in person if so.

Jeff miss your weekly discussions.
Really cool to hear some of the history of 187.

I would really like to see some more of these "paintball patrons" as Matty Marshall likes to call them build a team from d4 and not just get cherry pick top level divisional players.

patron -Noun A person who gives financial or other support to a person, organization, cause, or activity. A customer, esp. a regular one, of a store, restaurant, or theater. Synonyms protector - sponsor - guardian

Marshall is always taking about how these paintball patrons keep our sport alive like Dave painter, owner of Houston Heat/impact.

Basically people who have money or resources that instead of keeping it for them selves use it for paintball.
