i dont need the tips i get payed 50 a day for refing as well as free playing free air 1/2 off paint but i do get tiped all most every day i work from my players they love me and i run the hell out of them makeing it the most fun they will have and when they lever they are now my new best friend all u do is be u with them and have nothing but fun they love it

Iv refed 4 years and iv been tipped 3-4 times. But i usually dont do private groups. I like refin air ball. But when i do get a private group im really nice and try to let them make up their own games and rules. Like one group wanted to play respawning zombies vs pirates. My last group was theis guy that had a house panting company, and a lot of the workers did speak English. So they kept taking off their mask and stuff. I was really good about it and kept everything under control, and the owner slipped me a 20 at the end of the day.

The wedding partys almost always tip and tip well. Sometimes between 20 and 200 dollars depending on size and social status. Ive been tipped by birthday partys not much 40 dollars max. ( they require the most work ). Walkons almost always tip me with left over paint. I have never reffed a day in my life with without making at least a 5 dollar tip . This is also due to help from the field owner. He will tell the leaders of the wedding partys or huge groups to give the reffs a tip if they take care of the groups well because they make there money in tips. I make 45 a day plus tips. Ive walked away from the field one day with 400 dollars cash im my pocket with SPLIT tips between me and another reff of a wedding group of 50 . I also reffed 2 other groups that day that tipped me with half cases of paint when they were done.

If u want a tip you have to let the group leader know it is a curtious gesture to tip the reffree if he does his job right. Even help from another reff mentioning a good tip from another group usually guarantees you a tip .

If you think the way i get tips is wrong think about this. Ive never had an injury caused my a paintball in a group ive reffed. And ive only seen 1 person hurt them selfs when i was reffing the group a dislocated shoulder after he failed to clear a log.

I can handle a group of 40 or more ppl by myself and i have been reffing for 7 years.

I keep ppl safe and happy and im tipped accordingly.

I never go into the day looking to get tipped. honsetly i dont do it for the money. It all depends on the group of guys and girls that you have that day no matter if its walk- ons or a private group. Bar Tenders and Waitresses tend to be the more frequent tippers. Abot 5 years ago i had a group of bartenders from NYC. The owner brought all of the bartenders from his 3 GAY bars(lol) Off the buss me and my other ref got 100 a peice. at lunch another 150 each and when they left another 150 each. all and all it was really worth being hit on all day by a bunch of guys lol i havent come close to that ever again and unfortanatly got a nickname that has stuck since. Mostly we get 20 here and 20 there depending on the group and the co ref that i have that day.

I also had a group of fathers whose kids were HORRIBLE all day. i mean lifting goggles shooting in the safe area not listening to me walk up to me at the end of the day and hand me 50 and say thanks for putting up with our kids and were sorry for they way they were

As stated prior, do not expect to get tipped but it does happen here and there. I was tipped $60 for a party of 20 people, 3 days ago, always a nice surprise.

But dont walk out there expecting it, it will only make you want to be a prick when it doesnt happen, especially for really annoying groups. Also do not be affraid to infract people, chances are they wernt going to tip you anyway.

ive been tipped once since i started reffing, i guess that same lady does it every here for her sons birthday and always brings $100 divide between refs

I get tipped probably every other group i have. But i try to be nice as possible to them, get them in as many games as i can while making sure they all have a good time are safe. But i looove getting tips. lol

Been reffing for a bit and never received a tip, in england I've never seen a ref tipped. Sometimes I even ref tournies with no pay and receive a drink from a player every now and then and it means alot. And I also do this for refs.

ive only been tipped twice both on the same weekend the first 1 was a 30+ church group and the leader game me and the other ref 60 each and the second was a group of walkons and they handed me a 20 it was totally awesome

Back when I used to ref, it wouldn't be uncommon to get handed a 10 from a private party, or maybe a mom when I helped their son with something.. But almost never from walk-on players. That's why when i'm out at a field, and the ref is doing what he's supposed to, I'll usually hand him a 5 before I leave for the day because I know how boring it can be, and what kind of stupid stuff he's more than likely had to endure throughout the day.

The actual groups tip me. Not frequently though.

One time a group gave me and my partner $100! The usual value is $10-20

I've never got a tip reffing the walk-ons, but I sometimes get tipped when I ref a private group. I usually try to request a private group, because its make it easier to focus on just that group of people. It makes the experience more enjoyable for me as well as the players. At least for me. A lot of times I let private groups use my paintball guns (pump and intimidator) so they can get an idea of what different paintball guns are like, besides just a rental. A couple of weeks ago I got tipped $80 for a birthday group of 11. The group was a really fun group to work with. I really enjoyed the experience.

Hrmm, I've never really tipped a ref before in my time playing, but generally I am also just a walk-on with maybe one or two other people with me. If I were there in a private group, I would definately chip in a few bucks to tip a good ref though, probably even a bad ref because private parties tend to be full of people that are more difficult to work with(Not meaning that necessarily in a negative way).

But I usually appreciate it when I find a good ref that chills out and chats for a while during down time or offers pointers. I've been playing for years, but never steadily, so I appreciate tips on things. I've also been called crazy the first time I went to a field with my brother because we played a 1v1 while three refs watched and both sprinted for the center bunker and started blasting each other at about 3ft away.

But I will keep in mind from now on when I go to keep an eye out for outstanding refs who actually look like they enjoy being there and keep a 5 or 10 on me if I need it.
