All the g5's are that same dust finish of the g4 line. It's not super flat dust but its not gloss either.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket parts coming for the G5?

if i had to guess, i would agree with Granite...probably bolts. there is always the possibility of an aftermarket board too.

There may be a need for an aftermarket board. I was a little surprised that the stock board only goes down to 12 for the mood dwell.

Really? What dwell does the tech t bolt use?
Shocker builds are fun. It's like a scavenger hunt over the Internet.

the reason for this is because some kids lower their dwell too low and when their gun doesnt work, they blame the manufacturer.

Typically 12 or even 11. I'm sure there are a few who even run at 10 but that is probably pushing it.

I understand why they did. Just kind of a bummer that it likely operates normally at 12 but the adjustment range is 12 to 20. I would have liked to see it range from maybe 10 to 18 instead. Oh well, like I said - opens up a market for boards.

wow nvm then.... that blows
edit: do the top two screw holes on the g4 board match up with the holes on the g5? if so you can probably secure the board in the frame just fine. the only thing you would need to worry about then is the microswitch position but seeing as the g5 trigger looks to have a adjustable micoswitch activation point then it should work.
edit2: you also would have to see if the power button lines up.

actually, the lowest setting is 10 ms, they just didnt put it in the manual that way or it was a typo, but yes, the lowest dwell setting is 10ms,

i dont see why everyone is worried about getting their dwell set VERY low. I like my efficiency gains coming from a pressure drop rather than a short dwell time.
10ms should be plenty low with techt bolt. My g3 has never really liked anything lower, that tends to be poppet valve territory. also, dwell isnt everything, my alien independence runs at 12ms in stock form and will smoke any DP spool valve in the efficiency category.

Higher dwell = more consistency
Lower dwell = more efficiency
When your marker is consistently shooting the same you'll need less shots to get on target
thus in some weird way I'd consider consistency >/= efficiency where efficiency < consistency.

i just think sometimes it gets taken to far. when you can lower your dwell without the gun requiring an increase in pressure, your doing it right. It goes to a point though.

I agree. The dwell isn't giving you better efficiency just because......it's doing it by turning off the air flow sooner so you waste less air after the paintball has left the barrel. Once you change your input pressure......you change your flow rates. That in turn changes the rate at which you waste air.
In other words, if you increase your pressure, you waste air faster so now you NEED a lower dwell. If you lower your pressure, you slow down your waste rate and can run a higher dwell.
Where the optimum point is I have no idea. Maybe some others who have experimented more can chime in. When I bought one of the first G3's years ago.....I think the best I was ever able to get was 350psi per pod and the gun felt like crap doing it.

Barrels, Regs, Feed-necks, ASA's, maybe boards and bolts later in the year. I dunno... perhaps.
but I digress.
Just saw this G5 shooting video on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfuP1XVCxJ4
Unless I'm imagining things there is virtually no muzzle-climb in the video just a little shake when shooting (unlike the G4 that actually climbs when ramping), which means out the box, that is one seriously smooth shooting marker. I can't wait to order mine.
