In my opinion

What the Proton has over the Axe:
Ergonomics
Smoothness
Barrel rise

What the Axe has over the Proton:
Efficiency

I'd agree with this, the proton feels lighter in the hands aswell.

The Proton gets about 6 pods on a 48/45 and the Axe gets about 7 pods on a 48/45 (48 just because it's the tank I play with).

Same here.

I went from an Axe to a Proton and aside from the board and efficiency it was an upgrade in every way.

I actually chose my axe over proton. Kinda regret it. I held one at World Cup, daaammmnnn. That made me want one. The didn't have any at World Cup, then when I went to order online my dad suggested axe, and I said, ok.

Proton beats stock Axe on smoothness/sound, but with a Boss/Lurker bolt I think the Axe is smoother

Ergonomics is such a weird, personal thing. My axe was the first gun I held since my old tippmann 98 back in the day. I don't think there's anything "wrong" with how it feels because I don't have any past experience with comparable guns to compare it to. When I hold a more classic gun design like my friend's Rail, I find that I actually like the feel of the axe foregrip that everyone else seems to have issues with.

Its like buying pants. Just because all the cool kids like Abercrombie & Fitch jeans, doesn't mean your butt is going to fit in them right until you put them on. You really need to hold both guns- no one is going to be able to tell you which one is going to fit your arms better.

More like this:

With a Boss/Lurker bolt, the Axe beats the Proton on all area's. Plus, the warranty is through one company versus two. The Proton is actually a Mokal Aurora so where do you send the gun for maintenance if you have an issue you can't fix ? Other then clothes or paint, Valken doesn't actually make their own guns, they just buy existing guns and have their names milled on them.

Lol.

Obviously you've never had to get at CS with a Proton. While the Proton is based off of the Mokal Aura (It's Aura btw, not Aurora), Valken handles all of the CS and assistance. Need a part? VALKEN sends it to you. Need it fixed? You send it to VALKEN.

I'm still perplexed at all of these people thinking that Valken is just having Mokal put out some PL markers and then just leaving all of the responsibility to Mokal.

Never said Valken did, if you had payed attention to the text, there was a question mark at the end of the sentence, not a period. That makes it a question, not a statement. Besides, if I wanted a specific gun, why would I want to deal with the middle man ? Why wouldn't I just go to the source ?

But the way you said it also meant that you were implying that you send it to Mokal, not Valken. My apologies.

I still don't think you're getting it.

Valken doesn't act as a contact buffer for Mokal. Valken is where the markers are serviced and parts are distributed from.

The protons are nice, but sketchy. The o-rings freeze up a lot.

I do get it, but other then the Proton, I have a few friends who bought Valken G6R's and they had them worked over by BLAST since they were a year old, as Valken said they wouldn't touch them.

Do u know why geos are so damn reliable?

It's because. Of the minimal dynamic orings

Also tolerances and the lack if an lpr ( bc kids like to jack with them)

Just a thought

Axe is definatly alot smoother than a proton. Proton does feel better in the hands though.
