So I'm having a problem with my 96 NG900s 2.3L. The car has always ran great but lately it's been having this problem where, while driving, it wouldn't seem to respond to the gas pedal very much at all, unless it was down to the floor. Also, when stopped and idling, it would idle at about 500rpm, with the engine barely running.
I thought it was the mass airflow sensor, so I unplugged it from it's harness and the idling/accelleration problem stopped, but I lost a **** ton of power and was going through gas like a hog. So I snagged a new sensor from a junkyard for a few bucks, but the problem is still happening. Not sure what to do... Any ideas?
I'm also having some strange electrical problem where the guages and lights randomly go on and off, without warning. Not sure what that's about either...

the 2.3's in NG900S were distributor not DI. I would say TPS or MAF.

Didn't know that. I thought all of the Saab engines used a DI cassette. *shrugs*

Saab central could probably help you out with more specific things.

looks like I'm keeping my 900SE. Someone buy me a transmission, rear shocks, a front bumper, refinish my wheels, and fix my seats...

Im looking to get a '89 Saab 900 turbo, 5sp, 150k miles with a bent axle for $500. The car would be used mostly for autocross and other like events. Is this a good car for autocross, and is this year model plagued with any problems or anything like that? thanks

3 are curb rashed badly, last has light curb rash.
one is peelin horribly, one other has light peeling especially around the valve stem. the one with the bad peeling has a bend in the lip, probably fixable though.
when I have my winter wheels on I'm going to dismount the tires and take them to someone who can refinish the to see if they can make them look like new.
