I was at team practice Yesterday and my omen has been very inconsistent lately.

There is no binding in the back block at all.

I went through about 1 1/2 cases the past 2 times I played with no uncocks, everything going beautifully as it should when the gun is set up properly.

All of a sudden at practice, BANG! Back block gets stuck halfway and I have to recock after every shot.

I get out and remove the internals... Sure enough the Nipple on the hammer falls out....

My question is... Does this happen often enough to have a few hammers extra?

I am dissappointed because this weekend I have a Clinic with Greg Hastings, Oliver Lang, Nicky Cuba and Pete Utschig and I will be forced to play with my impulse as Evil Customer service (they rock) say it's about 2 weeks to get parts to Canada.

People in the "I don't know how to set my omen, it always breaks and I dont have the manual so it sucks and it always breaks, so get an imp" crowd please abstain. (My backup marker is a fully upgraded impulse, and I still love my Omen more.)

can't answer that havn't had my omen long enough but the omen does rule

yea it does happen alot, if u overtighten ur hammer theres a good chance it will happen......btw youll have fun with hastings hes a great guy, i play at my local field all the time with him

yeah it happened to me 2 times early on.
once dry firing

From what I heard and conclude these things can cause it:

1. Misaligned internals after replacing hammer.
2. Misalinged valve
3. damaged bumper
4. Not clean or oiled hammer
5 Over tightening the cocking rod

After the 2nd time I made sure I had an extra on hand - double checked everthing - and then of course it never happened again.

Hopefully when you get it back from evil it will not break again - but just incase order and extra hammer and hammer plate.

I am pretty sure all of my internals were aligned properly.

Hammer is also lubed (along with rest of Gun)

Cocking rod was a little more than hand tight and loctited to make sure it didnt move.

Bumper is new and I have loads of spares lol.

The only thing I am not sure of is the valve.

Wouldnt' I hear/see other symptoms if valve was off?

PS> I can't wait for Saturday, I am pretty new to speedball and it will be the fundamentals but still will be pretty cool.

We're having a little get togther at the field the night before so it will be all good.

you need to take off your trigger frame..... and the brass screw that holds the valve in place... needs to be only flush with the bottom of the body.... most are in all the way and tight.... this causes the valve to be pushed up to the top of the chamber.... causing misalignment... and broken pins... it has happened to me when i first got the omen... but since ive made sure of that... and made sure the hammer was just snug... ive not broke one.... good luck

Yeah, that just happened to me. Talked to Evil today and they're shipping it to me. It took 3 weeks for my new inner block to get to me from the day I called about it.

P.S. What clinic is that? Haven't heard of it out here in the West, I can only presume it's a Pre-Skyball Practice Clinic type in Ontario/TO.
