Television Show at School

Hey guys, I'm on the staff of my television show at school which airs usually once per month, due to all the planning that goes in, interviews, shooting the actual pieces, studio work, editing, and all that, and the day after every show airs, the students who work for it (full student operation) need story ideas for the next show. Lately i have been faltering, bringing in only 2 or 3, or none at all on some occasions, and i need your help! If you all are sitting at your TV watching the news, in the shower and an idea pops in your head, or just thinking about what you want to see on the TV, any ideas will help. The show is broken up into sections of -
-Intro, usually a take off of a popular commercial at the time
-Studio/School News
-Usually 1 spoof story/"entertaining" story
-2 or 3 information stories about current events in the area
-Sports, school, county, state, and even national on some occasions

All i would like is some ideas to share with my class as to what we can make stories on. Nothing obscene, nothing too controversial, and nothing too out of the ordinary. Thanks!

Yeah we've done other segments on bands, they don't turn out as well as we'd like though because the wrong people end up picking the story to do. It ends up being a spoof and the band just makes jokes and comes up with some ridiculous THS type story but making it absurd and one big lie to entertain the viewing community, there's not much musical talent, band wise, in our school that would interest the public, but i will definitely mention it!

what about filming someone without them having any idea see what they do and act everyday. If your at a private school then find the most ideal student follow what they do just have private cameras hidden to just see how that person works? almost like a ed tv thing.

That could be good, it'd be kind of awkward for them to see though, or they might go crazy and flip out knowing they've been filmed for the past week or so.

You'd have to tell them at some point? You need consent before you just slap someone's face on the tv while committing possibly absurd acts in front of the whole school's eyes to see.

Not to a point of mischievous actions taking rogue film of someone who is unaware that they are being watched, thus providing them the security that they can perform actions that would possibly turn out embarrassing, and then show it in front of the whole school. We have never done that.

You could do the whole sneaky recording person thing, but also have a backup plan. Record them being themselves stealthy, and after you record them, ask them if you could use it. If they say no than go with the backup plan.

Or you could punk someone.
