Thank you for understanding what I meant.

I meant I was open to suggestions if you didn't think the processor I went with is decent, and if not the processor I have in mind is an LGA 1155.. I had an LGA 2011 in mind but my heatsink does not work with that socket type, thats why I listed the kinds I can look at.

I am a noob when it comes to motherboards, all I know is I of course want 6Gb/s sata, I'd like USB 3.0, especially since my case has two on the top but it would need the proper plugin .. I would like SLI capabilities and RAM up to 32 gigs at least not that I'd probably ever use that but its nice to have options

Don't hold yourself back from 2011 because your heatsink won't fit...

If you can afford 2011, go for it.

LGA 2011 i7

but for the most part mobos go up with that socket to, I had picked out an ASRock, and then people told me what I kinda thought, that they were a "generic" kind of manufacturer
Thoughts?

ASRock is a subdivision of ASUS, I thought...

Edit: They used to be, but they're under different ownership these days. Honestly if you're on a budget I'd get a Gigabyte mobo. Super cheap, super durable. Not filled with dumb features though.

I think both companies are owned by pegatron. Asrock has been making some sweet boards lately.

I mean in the literal sense. Like in the device manager. Will I see two cards or should they appear as one?

You'll see two, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they operate independently.

Got an email from Newegg that they had EVGA 680s in stock but they were sold out before the page loaded. ಠ_ಠ

H100, H80 or Antec Kuhler 920 to cool my i7-2700k?

I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ but I heard that won't get me far overclocking wise

H80 probably won't do any better. You might be able to lower your current temps by 2 to 3 under load... but should be a lot quieter than your 212. The 920 is similar to H80. The H100 would be your best bet since the rad is larger... and can dissipate more heat. The only issue would be if you have the space in your case to fit a H100.

Not sure if you even gave AMD a consideration, but you'd get a lot more for your money take a peek before you say no. I have this processor oc'd to 4.0ghz, and it is a monster. Backed by 2x msi 7970's

For the H100 I was gonna put it in the front of the case and loose the 6 bays, the case is a Antec 900.

It has been done in the Antec 900/902

Only reason I stopped at 4.0 is that I'm not liquid cooled I'm running the 135mm Zfan I don't have the time to do the upkeep on a liquid system.
