Hey guys just wondering because a lot of people say that professional paintballers don't make money or any money at all....so like let's say your on a team that is pretty decent plays in the nppl and psp and they get like 1st or 2nd a lot how much money would they make yearly included with sponsorship and signing autographs an estimate like 5000$???

None.

Unless someone else is paying for everything, and letting you keep all the winnings, and you win every single event.

i'm not disagreeing with you at all. with the way the paintball economy has been hit in recent years i'm surprised factory teams such as the ironmen are still around. i miss the days when a small paintball company such as mantis could afford to sponsor a factory for a whole NPPL season (which used to be 5 events a year instead of 4)

Ollie's 100K was a very rare instance in paintball. Most pros play at the highest level for th enjoyment of playing. They usually have their expenses covered by sponsors for events, but mostof the guys either work in the industry for certain companies or have regular jobs.

most pros and upper divisional players have regular jobs and sell equipment and paint to help foot the bill for tournys, and when they win a tourny the money goes strait back into the team

They are, it is just a very small amount of money when you consider the cost of playing in the events and the cost of preparing for the events. Over the last several seasons the prize packages have dropped off dramatically.

Gotta understand how a team works. If they win the winnings usually go into a fund that is used for the next event. Its not like it gets hacked up between guys after the event. Most of these guys hold down day jobs as previously stated. Its common misconception that pros can live off this sport. When technically, if they are in the business side of the industry they can. Also look at private label stuff. Teams make $$ off of that too. Or some sort of sponsorship agreement.

i did hear a rumor a few years back that Russian legion got paid per hour they put into playing and practicing. and yea this guy wasnt a reliable source of info, but if theres any team that can afford something like that, its RL.

and lets say you win EVERY major tournament with big prize money in the world in a year. NPPL, PSP, Millennium, etc. at $5500 a win. lets say 20 events. that comes out to $110,000 for the team. big money right? and then split it among 10 players and you have $11,000 per player. thats not even minimum wage in my state.

i was going under the assumption that a team that can win 20 international events is good enough to have someone pay their airfare. but your right. each event costs a ton of money. cuz then you have car rentals, hotels, food, gas, taking time off of work.

its a hard knock life.
