The grey tinted slime is old lube. When was the last time you gave your bolt engine a THOROUGH clean & re-lube?

Do this about once a month:
-Take all the o-rings off your bolt guide and clean them off with paper towel.

-Take q-tips and get right inside the grooves to clean out all the old lube that hangs around (this is what turns into the grey slime). I also take an o-ring pick, put paper towel around it and REALLY get into the corners to give the bolt guide a good clean.

-put o-rings back on in proper order and re-lube lightly.

If the slime keeps coming back after every day of play, then you're using way too much lube. All you need is very light coating.

I clean my bolt assembly completely after every day of play. Again this this condition only started after I switched to the long spring. Boss recommends heavy lube on the bolt o rings. Again using the same lubing techniques as I have been with the short spring this condition started after switching to the long spring.

It not hurting anything at all. Yes it is probably just the spring turniong the lube a little grey.

Is this from tiny metal shavings coming off the spring or something? or just dirt?

Thanks Boss Just thought it was funny that the long spring was generating this grey tint in the Sleek.

Recieved my new infamous bolt with bolt guide orings installed it and will be trying it tomorrow. Question I found when dry firing it that the bolt with shoot like normal then on the way back it would stop at the rubber tip for a second then go back, should I lube it more or just give it a few shots to break it in a bit?
140 psi
1.5 turns
dwell at 3
short spring

Make sure you lube the rubber tip as well.

This is exactly what is happening. I manufacture and sell the "Rhino spring" for shockers, Luxes and Infinity Legends. The spring is made from Steele and is hardened. The greyish color in the lube is microscopic filings from either the spring itself or the aluminum body of the Axe. (or both)
Neither will harm your marker, just wipe it off and replace with fresh lube!

Love my Boss bolt BTW!!

I guess if nothing else it can be a reminder for people to clean and lube their guns. By the way I see Sleek turning grey in guns with the stock bolt and springs as well. Nothing to worry about guys. I guess pure white lube is going to turn grey being run through aluminum parts, who would have thunk it.

Used the infamous bolt today for the fist time. Axe shot way smoother than with the stock bolt and i had no issues at all. i would highly recommend this bolt to any axe owner. Boss, you make a wonderful product.

Awesome, started at the stock settings sunday, dropped OP from 190 to 168,
was shooting a good 288 +/- 5. after 3 games, went, rechronoed and had to drop it again down to about 155, got it shooting 290 +/-4 with the occasional -10. Not bad when the first couple shots each time were 288,290,291,291,291,292,290.

Very happy, next outing I'm going to try and measure how many pods I can get.

I have a question about the different springs. My Axe is completely stock, first thing I'll be doing is putting the Boss bolt in it. What's the difference between the springs, and which would you guys recommend?

Just got my xsv bolt,

Short spring
Dwell 3 ms
Pressure 160
Back cap 1.5 turns

How can I drop my pressure even lower, my back cap wasn't really affecting the velocity turning in or out

Any suggestions

(Shot amazing btw just want to tweek if I can)

Try raising your dwell.
