Anyway. I might be picking up the Insignia bookshelves sometime in the near future. If I buy them, I'm going to need an amp/receiver, obviously. I know watts aren't everything, but would a T-amp have enough balls to power them alright? How loud will they get compared to my current x530s ()?

I'm confident in the speakers, but iffy on the T-amp. I could also either get the Insignia 200w 2-channel receiver, or pick up a used Onkyo or Denon receiver, both for around the same price.

What do I does?

I was thinking it's best to send av noobs off to avforums or the like. Not many people here will do anything but just recommend a single brand over and over.

That's OK as long as people understand it's opinion based. This could be a good place to post set up pics and specs and comment or give suggestions for improvements too. I agree that avsforums is a must to visit (I post there too) as well as places like bluray.com oddly enough.

Lol what a time for this too be made. In a dilemma right now actually. I can't decide to pick up these DEMOS B&W 704s for 1700$ (the dealer will eat the tax) or hold onto my JBLs. I mean the 704s kick the **** out of my JBLs but I'm planning on doing a 5-6k system this coming summer after co-op and I'm budgeting 3500$ for the speakers. So tempting I can't decide. I wouldn't stick with the 704s though. I'm hoping to find some Vandy quattros for cheap. Think it is worth it since I'm getting the 704s at such a discount? They are usually 2400$ plus tax but they are being discontinued.

By the way DH move those speakers forward, get them off that wall and infront of the tv. Tv's are horrible for imaging and so are walls. Will help you out alot :-).

So in my new house. The second light switch in my room turns the outlet beside meh bed off and on. so I have a rope light wrapping around my whole room and plugged into that outlet. So I can turn it off an on with ease. woot.

Edit: Wait how did I end up posting this in here. I thought I was in the GDT. Lmfao.

Although while I'm hear I've been thinking. I have 150 bucks too spend on a speaker setup for my PC. Receiver and bookshelf combo be a good idea?

i though the center and the fronts were basically supposed to be the same distance away....and the center can't go more than an inch further fwd on the top shelf.
